Have you tried the ghosting technique yet?
Here's another of my tries.

Here's another of my tries.
After sponging some Distress Ink on a piece of cardstock, I used Shery Russ' technique
and stamped with water on the background.
I was a bit too overzealous with the water. Oops!
So I die cut a butterfly to pop over one ghosted butterfly and
stamped over the other.
I splattered a little bit of water on the background too so there's some ghosted drops.
So I used Stamping, Ghosting Technique, Die Cuts and Embossing with a Die
for my mixed media.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!
Card Recipe

Paper: Watercolor (Strathmore Cold Press), Mixed Media (Strathmore)
Other: Kaleidoscope Butterfly (MB), Stitched Square Die (LI), Sequins (PPP)

Beautiful, Bonnie! Love the technique and that butterfly is just gorgeous to boot! Also crushing on the fact that you hid your boo-boo by stamping over it, love the dimension it adds!
Very pretty, the orange panel is lovely, such a great fall color and it looks nice on the stark off-white background.
I love it when stampers point out their mistake and then I have a hard time finding it! It just looks great!

Sweet! Love the ghosted image and drops. The butterfly pops off that bright orange ... so pretty! xx
A lovely card Bonnie. It's a lovely technique and I love your vibrant colours. Barbxx
Gorgeous card, the orange background is beautiful. I've never tried the ghosting technique, something else to add to my 'to try' list! xx
Love this Bonnie -the intense orange and the fabulous ghosting - even if some of it is hidden :-)
Blessings

I love this card. Ghosting is my next project and you and Loll have really made me step out of my comfort zone. I loved the marbling and this technique looks like so much fun and several ways to try it. I love how you "fixed" your card. It really added to the design.
Gorgeous card and colors! I do want to try stamping with water and thanks to you I know now what to do when I use too much of it! Glad you didn't let this beautiful piece go to waste!
Since butterflies are a major fave of mine, I have never seen a b'fly card I didn't like but this one really pops with the color and b'fly ghosting. Love it! Plus your usual good saves with boo boos.
Great recovery from the mistake of too much water! It adds even more interest and dimension to the card. Love the embossed frame too.
OMG Bonnie...Absolutely Stunning Ghosting card. I Love your technique of using water on your stamped butterflies. I will have to try that technique. So pretty with your saturated Fall colored background. Your CAS design turned out so beautifully too. TFS my friend. Hugs, Nancy

Beautiful. Great job with this technique. Love the colors and the butterfly.
That's a wonderfully bright color making for a perfect autumn butterfly card. I like the ghosting and the stamped bits. Makes for an interesting background.
Wonderful bright orange and I love the layered die cut butterfly - the perfect accent to your design!

Just seeing the damage from Matthew and I hope you are far enough inland to be safe. Thinking of you and sending prayers for you and your state.
The ghosting is a wonderful effect in watercolour. I love the lovely orange colour for this gorgeous butterfly panel.
Oh wow--so, so pretty, Bonnie!
If you hadn't told us we would have thought everything was intentional, Bonnie. It turned out fantastic.
I love how this background has turned out, Bonnie.
