There's only a coupla days left to enter.
I stumbled across my Concord & 9th dies one day and had a eureka moment.
By cutting one petal off the flower, I had a butterfly.
I'd never thought of that because the set has a perfectly beautiful butterfly.
But this one is a little smaller and a better fit for some flowers.
This first card was stamped and heat embossed, then painted with Lindy's Magicals
which gives them a lovely shimmer!
I painted this image around Christmas time when I first got the Magicals.
(Thanks again, my friend.)
After snipping the flower petal to make a butterfly, I fussy cut a solid butterfly
from vellum and attached a body from a Memory Box butterfly die.
(I have a little box of assorted butterfly bodies at the ready.)
The second card uses the flower die as intended. It was cut twice.
Once from watercolor paper and once from mixed media paper scraps.
I put a piece of Press and Seal behind the paper for one die cut so the
pieces would stay intact and watercolored the flower using
Distress Oxide inks.
I used the same DOX inks for the openwork flower but not as dark,
and added some Distress Glaze on the flower to bring out the color a bit.
The stem was stamped from a Tim Holtz stamp set and watercolored.
Two of the pieces from the openwork flower were painted to make some leaves
that hide a renegade splatter that landed on the stem.
I don't think I'd used this die before so I'm glad to get a Twofer out of it!
Enjoy!

So very creative Bonnie and what a clever idea to see the butterfly in the flower die. I know you can enter the challenge with using the same stamp or die in a more traditional way but I am loving the gallery with all the inventive and clever ways and yours is right up there x Glorious first card, great colours and the water colouring with the magical is just that ...magical. The second card is CAS perfection and so very beautiful x
Wow! What a wonderful idea to turn that flower into a butterfly - and they're both stunning! LOVE these Bonnie!

Great job on making the flower die into a butterfly. I love that idea. And, I love the flower used in the traditional way as well. Your cards are both fantastic! Thanks for joining the Twofer Challenge #3.
Two absolutely BEAUTIFUL cards Bonnie and how clever to cut off one of the petals to make a butterfly...love it! And I never even thought about painting with Magicals, but you just let the light turn on for me and now I can't wait to play with them like that...thank you, thank you!! What a clever use of this die set! I have this set and haven't used it in awhile so motivated to get it out and play a bit and see where the creative genie takes me. Your cards always have such a unique "Bonnie" touch.
Bonnie, both of these are just beautiful! Love that you created the butterfly from the flower, something I'd have never thought to do. Love the pretty flowers stamped on the one with the butterfly and love the clean look of the flower cards.
These are beautiful. Very creative to make the butterfly out of the flower die. TFS
It took me a minute to "get" it. What a fun idea and two great cards. That was a good aha moment.
Such a clever way to turn your die cut flower into a beautiful butterfly, Bonnie. Both your CAS designs are soooo beautiful. TFS my friend. Hugs.
It's so fun to have a Eureka moment, isn't it, Bon-Bon?! That's how I felt when I saw the moose head in the iris. Your sketchy flower die worked perfectly as a sweet butterfly against those utterly gorgeous poppies and then as it was intended in that beautiful hello card! (I can't wait to have a play with those intriguing magicals on my May trip!) Very clever to use those two sweet leaves to cover the errant splatter! Thank you so much for playing along at Twofer Card Challenge #3, my friend! Hugs, Dolly
You did it again, Bonnie, and knocked my socks off with your clever outside-the-box-thinking! That flower die makes a beautiful butterfly! I am very excited because I own that die! Thank you for your inspiration! Your cards are fabulous!
Thank you for joining at the Twofer!
Bonnie, you are too brilliant for words! That is so clever! I wish I could have eureka moments like that! I love both cards - but a slight preference for the first with the lovely flower and the great contrast of the black border, sentiment strip, and butterfly.
This is one of my favourite, delicate floral dies, Bonnie ... and you created a fabulous duo with it! Those hand painted vibrant blooms are just the perfect spot for your cleverly adapted bold black butterfly to flutter around ... and that single layered bloom with all the texture and dimension is simply gorgeous! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
What a brilliant idea to turn this flower into a butterfly! Two wonderful cards!
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous cards, and so very clever too.
