Another week has flown by and I'm coming in to Merry Monday
just under the wire. Again...
edited to add, my computer jammed so I didn't get this entered at Merry Monday after all. :-(
This week Kim chose an inspiration photo.
I struggle with this kind of challenge.
I did notice that yummy topping and the candy cane.
I had the cup but no candy can die that would work.
So I pulled out my candy cane $1.00 stamp and stamped that.
It didn't stamp really well so I filled in with a Red Ultra Fine Sharpie.
I cut one of the candy canes out and it was a perfect fit.
The topping is some old Sparkle Paste that I put on top of
the die cut then sprinkled with red glitter.
And since the cup looked a bit plain, I added a sparkly snowflake
and some holly.
While I had the candy canes out, I went for a Twofer.
A dear friend had given me this beautiful scallop diamond die for Christmas.
I was delighted to see that the candy canes fit on it so nicely!
I stamped the peppermint on mixed media paper and used the tip of a
water brush to move the color. The bow got a generous portion of WOS.
Since I popped that holly on my cup, I'll put this in the gallery at
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

The candy cane almost looks real! So cute. Love your little cup of cocoa or whatever. The topping on top looks yummy. Two pretty cards.

This looks yummy and so clever to add the holly to the cup. The candy cane card is so cute too.
Your first "frothy" cup and cane is fabulous and I love the diamond die with the candy canes.

What a perfect card for the inspiration photo Bonnie....fabulous! You had such fun with the canes and the frothy milk on top of the mug x Nope, does not look like you struggled with this one at all x Cute second card, love that diamond die cut and the dry embossing sets it all off beautifully x
I have some of those same $1 Mike's stamps...sometimes they stamp well, sometimes not so! I loved reading how you did a 'save' with this one, and your ideas for the whipped cream were brilliant. Got some terrific use out of 'less than great' products! I liked your take on the inspiration photo. Then you covered yourself with glory on making this image into a 2-fer! The canes look very pretty on the scallop and stitched diamond.(you would have to do watercolor on this one, right?!) TFS & Hugs. Sunshine today. Hope you have as well.
That cut and candy cane couldn't be more perfect from the inspiration photo, Bonnie! Genius! Love the clean look of your second card too . You sure are moving on your Christmas cards too! Good for you!
Two darling cards based on the MM inspiration, Bonnie! Sorry you didn't get them entered - darn computers! Just love the foam on the cocoa cup on card one and the pair of candy canes on card two!!
Bonnie, both are wonderful cards, your big mug of hot chocolate with the candy cane looks yummy and your second with the candy canes is so sweet.
Too bad you couldn't get your card posted for Merry Monday as it's perfect for the inspiration photo! Great use of the sparkle paste for the whipped cream! Love the simplicity of the second card - nice scalloped diamond die!
What beautiful cards Bonnie! The mug and candy cane is amazing!!! I love the way you dressed up your mug, the hot chocolate whipped cream looks so real! I just love it! I also am so loving your second card. That diamond die is awesome and so pretty-really dresses up those candy canes, which look amazing as well. So sorry your computer jammed up and you didn't get to enter your card. That just stinks. Hugs, Brenda
Love both of your cards Bonnie. Sorry you didn't get the first one added to Merry Monday as it is perfect for the challenge. Love how you added the holly & snowflake to the cup. The second card is lovely with that embossed background and those candy canes look so real. TFS
Both cards are absolutely beautiful, Bonnie. You nailed the inspiration photo with your first card. And your twofer is so crisp and perfectly CAS. xx
Oooh, I could just do with that lovely warming cup right now! IT would take the chill out of my bones! Great Christmas makes, you should be well and truly on track this Christmas which is rapidly hurtling towards us like a runaway train! I can't believe we are halfway through March already! Have a wonderful week my friend! Love & Hugs. Hazel xx

What a shame you missed the Merry Monday deadline, but you did end up with 2 beautiful Christmas cards for your stash:-) Loved all the details and textures on both cards. TFS, my friend. Hugs..
Gorgeous cards and I love the texture you've created!
Aww, so sad to miss a deadline, but you have a wonderful card none-the-less! I love your yummy topping and the candy cane. Your diamond shape die cut is perfect for those canes. Two fantastic cards, Bonnie!
The whipped topping with the "sprinkles" loooks yummy!! :) Love the sweet snowflake adorning your cup ... and the ones in the background. Too bad things didn't work out for you entering it into Merry Monday. Love the twofer ... the red candy canes pop off all that beautiful white space. Pretty scalloped diamond and dry ebossed background. xx
I'm sorry your card didn't make it in, Bonnie. I love the background and that candy covered 'foam' is perfect. At least it did see the Christmas Challenge. The scalloped diamond works beautifully with the candy canes and over the embossed background.
I can't pick a favorite between these two, Bonnie. I like that foamy cup of cocoa with the candy cane, which is perfect for it! And that diamond tag is very elegant on the embossed background. ;) Beautiful as always, my dear friend!
