Stitched Flower Garden

Hello again.

I'm back today with a reminder for the CAS Watercolour Challenge.

This challenge is hosted by Loll
What beautiful gardens are filling the gallery!

Our fantastic Design Team and Guest Designer (Nonni) have
lots more inspiration for you over there.

I used a stamp from the Penny Black Stitched Flowers set.

By placing the stamp in my MISTI, I was able to easily ink the different flowers
with Distress Markers.  I'd stamp and move the color around with a water brush,
then stamp again as needed.

I worked in sections until I had the whole image stamped, then pulled some color
from the images to make a soft wash around the flowers.

When I die cut the design piece I got a little divot.

I added a sequin to hide that and it looked lonely by itself, so I added more
to keep it company.

I'm happy with this garden.  Wish I could say the same for my outside gardens!

Aaahhh...Such a beautiful Spring flower garden, Bonnie. I love your watercoloring technique for your flowers and watercolor wash. Your sequins were the perfect embellishments. Don't you love when fixing a little nick turns out so well? TFS my friend. Hugs...

I love seeing your water coloring with the soft wash you always use in your background! These are such fabulous, spring colors. You do such a wonderful job with this technique. Nice save with the divot too.

When I look at this sunny and bright garden I'm reminded of the nursery rhyme "how does your garden grow?" It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL Bonnie and I wish I had an outdoor garden that looked like this too!! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! :0)

What a lovely stamp, and your fab coloring always is gorgeous. Love the shades you've created for these flowers, and enjoyed reading how the misti helped you with the watercoloring. It's certainly beautiful. The shadowing really enhanced the blooms and of course the stitched rectangle shows off this spring garden just marvelously. The sequins look like little dewdrops falling - so you didn't need to tell on yourself! (I love hearing about the saves though!) TFS & have a great weekend. Hugs

Your mix of the two stamps has made this really pretty design Bonnie, and I love the flower colours and the soft colouring around them too. The yellow mat and the stitched edge to the image finishes it beautifully. x

Love the soft loose look to the watercolouring! Beautiful flowers - can't wait for my borders to look like that in the summer! Great subtle embellishing with the sequins and the narrow yellow border.

So pretty Bonnie and love the wispy and beautiful water colouring. Yey to the sequins....The crisp black sentiment looks great too x It is so cold today in Scotland that it'll be awhile before any gardening gets done x

What a beautiful card Bonnie! I love the garden you have created on this card, but I really love how you have "hidden" the sentiment at the bottom in the "grassy" area. Hugs, Brenda

What a lovely garden you created, Bonnie! When I first saw your card, I wondered how you colored/stamped the flowers and painted the soft wash. Now I know. :-) You used a great technique and beautifully executed it! Hideko xx
