Cookie Day 2018

Hello friends.

In my last post, I told you that we were about to do Cookie Day here.

I thought I'd share some of the fun with you.

You'll have to come by to share in the sweets.

I have lots and they are really are good!

First up are my Cookie Girls.
They are such fun and I love spending time with them!

Here's Nana showing Emmy and Jack how to roll out the gingerbread.

Emmy & Jack rolling in the dough.

Then comes the decorating.
Emmy's masterpiece...

and Jack's.

I didn't get pictures of all the cookies, candies and snacks.

Needless to say all didn't get packed up and we had more than our
day's quota of sugar!

To top off the weekend, this is what we woke up to this morning.
An unusual sight in NC!

The snow was so pretty but then turned to sleet and now rain.

It's a COLD rain.  Hopefully it's not freezing on trees and power lines.

I think I'll go get a sweet treat.

Thanks for sharing our fun day with me.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Guess what! I was just looking for recipes on the Internet when I saw your blog post appear. Looks like you've all been having lots of fun. I have been looking for fat free and sugar free cake/cookies. DH is in hospital and the doctors want him to eat more, but it has to be fat free and sugar free. They've given him plain almonds (and dry toast), but there's only so many almonds you can eat in a day. I think I have found the perfect recipe, so I'll try making that tomorrow before driving to the clinic to see him. Hopefully DH will be released from hospital in a few days.

Looks like a fun, happy, memory making time. Great to see the grands learning cookie making skills and with a "sweet" outcome. That looks like Indiana kind of snow. For once it passed us up but it is very cold. Stay safe and snug.

Wonderful, Bonnie - bet Emma and Jack had heaps of fun, our two love to stand on chairs at the kitchen bench and help... especially licking the spoons. Gorgeous snow scene, we've had rain all day here that at last has broken the heat wave, love fresh 28F at present.

Looks like a lot of fun Bonnie! That snow looks gorgeous too, although we are pretty warm over here, would probably tire of it if it was like that all the time, but sooo pretty! Cathy x

Looks like lots of fun was had by all Bonnie! Love the kiddo's rolling and decorating-they did a great job! Wow, that is a lot of snow for NC, I saw where y'all could have gotten up to a foot of snow! You are experiencing the North's weather. lol I hate when we get mixed bag of weather or just ice. Snow is ok as you can still get traction in snow but get that freezing rain and sleet in and it because a slick mess in no time. Hope you don't have to go out in it and hope your roads are clear soon! Snow is beautiful to look at when it is pristine and undisturbed isn't it?! Hugs, Brenda

What a fun way to spend time with family. Looks like everyone enjoyed making cookies. According to Jack, they were finger-licking good! :) You have some master cookie decorators on your hands. Wish I could drop in for a cup of tea and some of those yummy gingerbread cookies! That's a lot of snow overnight. Snow is so pretty ... it's the most CAS weather. :) But I don't like the sleet and slush that happens once it warms up ... yuck! It's a good excuse to stay home and play in your studio with a cuppa and cookies! xx

It looks like you had a wonderful time together. I bet those cookies were good. They look yummy and I am sure Emmy and Jack enjoyed them. The snow looks beautiful, but I know it doesn't stay that way. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks for the beautiful Christmas card.

So much fun (and so delicious)! Your snow is very pretty but hopefully you won't get any nasty freezing - ice is so treacherous.

I enjoyed seeing your family baking cookies together. Also got a kick out of how much sugar the kids like putting on the cookies (grin). How fun is this and what a great time they are having!

Thank you so much Bonnie for sharing your Cookie Day! I loved seeing the photos of the girls and the grands. Reminds me when our kids were young and we always made LOTS of sugar cookies and ginger bread boys & girls for decorating:-) Now I do a lot of baking to mail to our kids even tho they still bake for their families. Never can have too many goodies at Christmas time.

TFS my friend. Merry Christmas. Hugs..Nancy

Oh Bonnie what a fabulous day you must have had - never mind the sugar :) - it's not an everyday occurrence. It looks as though Emmy and Jack also had a ball.
Blessings, and keep warm

This is the best gift of the season, spending time with your loved ones working on the same goal ...eating something sweet and special, from the heart. I can feel the love! xxx
