Two fer Christmas

Hi there.  I'm squeezing in just under the wire with these cards.

Christmas Kickstart's Guest Elf this time is our dear friend, Darnell, the
Queen of Twofer!  So the challenge is to do Two different Christmas cards
using the same stamp, die or stencil.
And to make it even more fun, it needs to be done with Christmas trees.

My onefer...

I gently dabbed some Versamark on the raised edges of the Corbel Tree Die
and used it to dry emboss this card.  Then I poured some white embossing powder
on top and heat embossed it.

You can see my friend Trina's Double Embossing tutorial here.

After dry and heat embossing the tree, I die cut the half circle and
stamped some snowflakes and heat embossed them.

I added a bit of "snow" under the tree and a sponge dauber with the white
ink to add some snowy haze.

I went over the high points of the tree with Wink of Stella so
it has a nice shimmer when the light hits it just so.

and my twofer....

Here's a closeup in case you'd like to see more sparkle.

This time I die cut from some glimmer paper and adhered it to
a Dark Green card base.

I used a snippet of the green for the sentiment to ground the tree.

I've used some stickers to trim both trees.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Two great cards, Bonnie! I love them both as you've achieved two very different looks using the same 'kit'! It's been great having Darnell working her magic for this challenge. Thanks for joining us at The Christmas Kickstart Challenge again, Jo x

How stunning to create two very different cards with the contemporary die tree. The dry embossing on the first card looks unique and has the wow factor. The die cut on the second card looks beautiful and the green card stock behind looks fabulous and so does the bling x.

These are both shimmery and gorgeous and I love your two different designs, Bon! I also love the colors. The white red and kraft are stunning together in the snowy blizzard of your double embossed delight and I love the deep evergreen with that schparkly paper and red ornaments of your second card! Great idea to use the sediment as a ground! Thank you for playing in Jo's Kickstart/Twofer challenge!! Hugs, Dolly

Two gorgeous trees Bonnie and the embossed die technique has worked brilliantly on the first, and then that fabulous shimmer behind the die cut second tree, and the dark green card gives great contrast, and both finished beautifully with the twine and red sticker gems. x

Wow, Bonnie! I've never seen this done before. Who would have thought to ink up and heat emboss a die. The results are exceptional. Love the same dies used on glitter paper with that wonderful contrast due to your choice of color. Thanks for sharing this fabulous idea!

Love both of these. The snow globe look is so pretty in kraft with the red decorations. The sparkle on your glimmer paper over green is lovely.

Two beautiful Christmas trees - lots of lovely sparkle on the green one, and great offset layout on the crumb cake and red one (it's my favourite of the two - love the red twine, the snow, and the red stickers).

Oh, wow! These are beautiful. The kraft one has so much dimension; it appears like a quilted panel!

Two beautiful tree cards using the tree die, Bonnie! LOVE the embossed on kraft with red and white details. It's gorgeous. And I love the traditional red and green with the sparkly background. So beautiful ... and would be great to add to the CAS Christmas challenge if you have time. :) xx
