Holly Berries

Hello there.  I'm glad you stopped by!

Are you staying safe and healthy?
I hope so.

It's time for a new challenge at CAS Christmas.
Dear Loll is hosting this month and she chose...

Our Design Team and Guest Designer, Lynne have done up some
beautiful winter berries cards.  I hope you'll check them out.

This holly die had been sitting in my NBUS box for quite some time
and this was a perfect opportunity to have a play with it.

I die cut from some Arches cold press watercolor paper and used
some re-inkers with my waterbrush to color this holly up.
A Distress marker worked well for the stem.

When it was all dry, I splattered with some white gouache paint.

This pretty frame was also in my NBUS box.
It's a die and matching embossing folder from Stampin' Up!
A friend and I bought it together.  She took possession of the oval set
and I got the rectangle.  It's nice to have friends to share with!

Challenges:
CAS Christmas: Winter Berries
NBUS Challenge #14: Use New Schtuff

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

This is one gorgeous card Bonnie! I love that color green. Everything pops on that white background and the frame is so perfect with this design. It seems like everything you do I want to do - but haven't been in my craft room in ages!
Our beaches have opened up -- I think after one more month of this, people will be ready to throw up their hands and say the heck with this!

I thought of this stamp, too, when I saw the challenge brief, Bon. Your execution is stunning! Wouldn't it be funny if I just plain copied it? No, not funny, but a little bit, lol! Can you tell I'm getting a little more kra-kra than normal?! Take care and keep safe! Hugs, Dolly

An absolutely beautiful die and your coloring of it is so amazing it's hard to tell whether it's a die or a stamp! Love the embossed/die framing, too. Really adds a nice touch. Great idea to split it up with your friend!

Using the SU reinkers gives this holly such a rich, vibrant look. Thanks for the tip of using Distress Markers for the branch. The layout with that Die and EF is purr-fect to set off the holly.

Stunning card, Bonnie! Your berry blueberry is one of my favorites, I only have a stamp, but that's a lot :-) Great work with watercolor is a reliable technique that gives such spectacular effects. The rectangular embossed frame looks wonderful.
