Moonlit Dragonflies

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm back again with a new challenge from

Our very talented Jenny is our host this month and she's asking for...

I used my mini ink pads to put some ink on my craft mat, spritzed with water
and smooshed some watercolor paper into it.

After it was dry, I splattered on some white gouache paint and
set it aside to dry again.

Finally, I mounted it on a piece of gold foil and die cut some
gold embossed vellum from my stash. Then I carefully ran some ATG glue on the
back of the die cut vellum and adhered it to the night sky

The dragonflies and grasses were die cut
from scraps of gold foil and glued beneath the vellum as well as a
die cut a piece of yellow watercolor smoosh from my stash to act as the moon.

Due to the size and shape of this die, the card is tall and skinny.
Dimensions are 3 1/4" x 6 1/4"

Our Design Team is joined by Tina and there's lots of
inspiration over there.  I hope you'll check it out and join us at
CAS Watercolour.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

This is such an interesting, artsy card. Like the way your night sky turned out using rich, deep colors contrasted against the gold embossed vellum. In a word, WOW!

This is so beautiful and I'm amazed at the rich color you achieved but smooshing ink! Mine are usually so pale. I've resorted to using reinkers. This is such a gorgeous card, Bonnie and I'm particularly fond of dragonflies.

Oh what a stunner Bonnie - loving the way you have used the gold patterned vellum on your elements, and the underlying gold on the grasses and dragonflies. And exquisite card.
Stay safe

I'm completely blown away by this, reading about all your different parts, how you made them and put them together. I think I read it at least 3 times. A real work of art!

Such a fabulous night sky Bonnie and the gold embossesd vellum has that crackle type look and works beautifully place over the gold frame and the pretty dragonflies, grasses and moon. I think it gives this a sot of oriental feel too. Gorgeous!! x

Well, it makes a fabulous card, too, my friend! Magical, beautiful scene you've created!

Gorgeous night sky you created using smooshing technique, Bonnie! I would have never thought of using Seedless Preserves for the night sky. It looks so beautiful. And I'm so impressed with how you used the gold embossed vellum. I still have many of the sheets and I was not sure how to use them. It looks like you applied "gold crackle paste" to the die-cuts and the frame. Great effect!

Slim cards are all the rage right now, Bonnie, so you fit right in with this beauty. I'm always impressed with smooshy backgrounds and yours is fabulous.

Bonnie, this is fabulous! I love your night sky but even more I love what you did with the gold embossed vellum and the way you left the border with the night sky background showing through, but added other backgrounds to the moon and dragonflies. I also love the tall shape. All in all, a wonderful card!
