On Your Special Day

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I've been busy doing yard work and spring cleaning. (I hate to think how
many springs have gone by since I did that!)  I did find a bit of time in
the craft room though.

I recently got the Shortbread Shapes Rectangle: Spring embossing folder and die.  So
when I saw Kim's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, this set popped into my mind.

Here's the sketch...

except my squares were bigger.  So I adjusted and I hope that's okay with Kim.

I embossed and die cut some Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and swiped over the raised parts with
a white inkpad.  The squares are on top of a Subtle embossed piece of Blushing Bride.

This flower die found it's way into that order and was cut from a snippet of
Neenah Solar White and colored with Ohuhu markers.  I pulled out a Betterpressed sentiment
to put on top.  Oh, and I added a bit of glitter to the flower.

Let's go over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what the
Design Team and participants have done.

Card Recipe
Stamps:
Ink:   Whisper White
Paper:   Neenah Solar White, Blushing Bride, Crisp Cantaloupe, Watercolor (Canson)
Other:  Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle, Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Spring EF, Bigger Botanicals: Genista (all Grtry), A Little Message BP plate (SB), Subtle EF (ret SU), Ohuhu Markers

Enjoy!

It's definitely OK with me - your card is fabulous! Lining up those gorgeous shortbread shapes in the cantaloupe color with the fresh white flowers on top is lovely. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Bonnie - first off, this cantaloupe color is so beautiful! Secondly, your sweet little shortbreads are truly gorgeous for Kim's sketch - isn't it something how a little swipe of white can bring all those minute details to life? SOOO beautiful! Thanks for thinking of us at FMS!

I think those lovely shortbread squares are perfect for Kim's sketch and you lined them up beautifully. Swiping the white ink pad over the embossing really makes it pop and the white flowers are perfect with it. I love your color combo - so pretty.

Those embossed squares are so pretty, Bonnie, made even more so with the white ink. They fit perfectly on your card and the flower is a great accent.

The perfect choice of dies for the background squares Bonnie, and the subtle EF just gives a little bit of pattern on the bottom layer, and the flowers and die cut and betterpressed sentiment finish it so prettily. x

This is really pretty, Bonnie! I love the quilted squared and of course the sweet bloom in the middle. I'm pretty sure anyone would accept this card into the challenge

This sketch is a great starting point for your arrangement and I'm certain Kim found your card beautifully acceptable! I love those little embossed squares and especially in the yummy cantaloupe on Blushing Bride. I can't get enough of white ink on embossing, so lovely. The perfect little flower sprig up front, too!

I recently saw a few embossing folders with these panel designs, either square or circular. I added them to my cart, but looking at your card, I already know I have to buy them. Great work with the sketch, and a very clever idea to use embossed tiles. The card's main decoration, the flowers, are truly beautiful.
hugs,
