Lattice Work

The Lattice Die is retiring from the Stampin' Up! catalog.

It'll be staying on my shelf.

Here's a couple of cards I've made with it.

and

You can find a video with instructions for the window card here.

Thank you Dawn.

Here's another card using this die.  I did a couple of years ago.

The cross was cut from the lattice.

I'm so sad to say that our dear friend who had the heart transplant passed away.
He was doing so well and we had high hopes that he would be with us for a long time.
The Lord needed him more.
Please pray for his wife and family.
He will be dearly missed.

Thanks for stopping by.

Live is short.
Enjoy!

Best of Flowers Pastel Bouquet

I was playing with my Best of Flowers set and thought I'd give this little bouquet a try.  I tried stamping it in black and brown to color and wasn't happy with that.  So I got out some markers and inked up the bouquet with them.  The results really made me happy!

It just so happens that two of my favorite challenge sites have a very similar sketch.  And I thought they worked well with this little design.

Addicted to Stamps and More is doing Anything Goes

Pixies Crafty Workshop only requires the use of snippets on a card.  The design piece and mat are both from snippets.  So glad I can play again.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

I have lots of June birthdays coming up so this isn't going to stay in my stash long.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another Sunny Secret Garden

Here's another card I did using the Secret Garden set.

The flower was done in the same way as in the previous post.

This time I laid it on my new Madera Corner die and left the unembossed portion at the bottom.

Queen for the Day at SCS inspired the layout.   She's known as Heartsong47 and has so many wonderful cards in her gallery.  I chose this one to CASE.

Color Throwdown has some fantastic colors this week.

The CCEE Challenge is looking for THINGS WITH WINGS

I want to thank Jen for choosing my Featuring Lesley Again card as a cut above.

And thank you susanbri for choosing the same card and also my Nature Walk Birthday as CAS Favorites at Splitcoaststampers.

Whew! That's a lot of blogging today.  Sorry to give it all at once, but challenges are closing and I wanted to get in the door on time.

Thanks for bearing with me.  I'll try to sit down and be quiet for a few days.  Maybe.  Or maybe not.....

Enjoy!

Featuring Sue

The Featured Stamper at SCS this week is Sue (aka suen).  I had a hard time deciding which of her lovely cards I wanted to CASE.  I think I'll be CASEing more of her cards in the days to come.  This is Sue's lovely card that I CASEd this time.

Here's what I came up with.

I used the same stamp set but used just the large flower.  I stamped the flower 3 times and cut each out. Then I used the Paper Tole technique on the flower.  I used a white background, different embossing folder and ribbon and different sentiment.  I put some micro beads in the center. I'm not sure I really like them there, but there's no going back now!

Addicted to Stamps and More is looking for CLEAN AND SIMPLE cards this week.

CAS on Sunday    Challenge #3 - Happy Birthday!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge since this has a Bit of Green.

I know some of you are buried in snow.  Take heart. Spring isn't far away.

I'm so glad you could stop by today.  Let me know so I can return the favor.

Enjoy!

Delicate Doilies

I haven't been able to play with the MUSE challenge lately.  This is not what I intended to do when I started out.  But I'm going to take it over there anyway.

Here is the MUSE card.  It's by the very talented Deanna Jean.

I wanted to go with similar colors so I picked Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple with some Gumball Green.  I wasn't crazy with the green so I went over some of the "leaves" with a Lucky Limeade marker.  I do like the effect.

I really wanted to break away a little bit more from the same overall design.  But the design is so perfect it was hard to change much.

It looks so much like other cards in the gallery so evidently they felt the same way about Deanna Jean's card.  And this sits in some very talented company.

It wasn't what I was aiming for, but I've got to say that I really like it.

I hope you'll go over to Muse this afternoon and vote on your favorites.

Shades of Blue

Here's another card using the Serene Silhouettes flower.  I love this flower!

When I saw this card by the Queen for the Day Carole, at SCS this week, I knew just what I wanted to do.  If I had time, I would CASE many of her beautiful cards.  Such an inspiration!

The colors are from Dynamic Duos: Monochromatic shades of Teal.  The design team has outdone themselves this week! So many beautiful creations!

Just us Girls has the same colors in their photo inspiration.  Again, some wonderful inspiration from the design team!

Embossing, Embossing for Mary

The Featured Stamper this week is the sweet Mary Marsh.  She's so talented and encouraging.  I'm so happy for Mary!  I printed off 4 of my favorites from the first page of her gallery.  This is the first one that I chose to CASE.  And here's my card.

I love the soft shades of pink on Mary's card, but wanted to do a white on white card for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and Mary's layout was perfect for that.

I'm not sure that you can tell, but the top layer is heat embossed.  I stamped it with the rose spray from the Elements of Style set with Whisper White ink and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder.

I didn't add a sentiment since I'm not sure what it will be used for yet.  It will be easy enough to add a sentiment later or just write a note on the inside.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Elements of Style
Ink:  Whisper White
Paper:  Whisper White
Other:  White EP, Big Shot, Lacy Brocade EF,  Floral Fusion Sizzlit, Large Pearl Basic Jewel, White Satin Ribbon (retired), Snippet of lace (unknown origin)

I really enjoyed making this card.  I hope Mary likes it.

I'm so glad you could stop by.  I hope you'll be back soon.

Enjoy!

Merry Monday Elegance

This is theme week at Merry Monday.  And the theme is ELEGANCE.

The Ornament Keepsakes set always makes me think of elegance especially when I add some embossing.

After stamping the ornament in Cherry Cobbler, I smacked it with the VersaMark pad and heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.  It gives it a shine like a glass ornament.

The rest of the design team has some gorgeously elegant cards to share too.  I hope you'll pay them a visit.

For Queen Susan

My friend Susan is the Queen this week at SCS.  I am so excited for you my friend!

This is Susan's card that I've CASEd.  I sponged the background instead of using that distressing technique, used the sponging as the second layer of the die cut, a different stamp to remind her that Spring is on it's way and a big blue layer.  I probably could have left the bow off, but it's too late now.  It seems to be on there to stay.

If you have a chance, check out Susan's gallery.  You'll have to scroll down a bit to see her cards as all the beautiful cards made in her honor are posted at the top.

To make the frame, I cut a frame from scrap paper using 2 of the Labels dies.  I used some removable adhesive on the back of the frame, laid it on the cardstock diecut and sponged the inside of the frame having the ink heavier on the edges and lightening as I got toward the center.  Leaving the frame in place, I inked the stamp with markers and stamped the design.

Merry Monday Poinsettia Greetings

Again, Lesley has a great sketch for Merry Monday!

I had just got this poinsettia die that I'd been wanting for at least a year.  DH says if you've wanted something that long, you probably should get it.  He didn't have to tell me twice!  So guess what I used for that little circle?

And what a perfect use for some snippets of that pretty decorative paper I've been enjoying. So over to Pixie's Crafty Workshop I go.

And I also want to honor Shadow's Mom (Lee-Anne) who is the Featured Stamper at SCS this week.  She did a beautiful punched poinsettia card last year.  Congratulations, Lee-Anne! Enjoy your week.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Teams cards.  I've had a sneak peek and they are gorgeous!

Traditional Touches Times Two

Try saying that three times fast!

Here's the first one.

Retrosketch provided the layout.  I flipped it.

And while I was at it...

The colors are from the Color Challenge at SCS this week.

Tempting Turquoise ---- Pear Pizazz ----- Gumball Green
Dessert is Washi tape.

I still don't have any Washi tape and I'm too lazy busy to make any of the faux tape.

This was a big step for me to use Turquoise on a Christmas card. And no red.

I used quite a few snippets, so I'll skip over the the playground at Pixies Crafty Workshop and do some sharing there.

Merry Monday Jolly Little Wreathes

It's another Merry Monday.

Here's Lesley's terrific sketch for this week.

I inked the little wreath with my SU Markers, using the Real Red on the berries first.  The bow is from the Joyous Celebrations set and fussy cut after it was stamped.

Just wait until you see the rest of the Design Team's cards!
