Wishing you Butterfly Mornings

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Years ago I worked in a needle crafting store and we had a cross stitch pattern
with this quote on it.  I always loved the quote but never actually used it.

I've been on the lookout for a stamp with the saying for a long time and
finally found one.  Isn't the font beautiful?

The butterfly was stamped in black on some patterned paper, then splattered with some
peach ink by flicking the end of a marker against a piece of acetate.
I splattered a bit on the background too.

No die, but it was pretty easy to fussy cut that butterfly.

The colors are from the Color Hues Challenge #45

There are so many beautiful peach and gray cards in that gallery.
Do go take a look.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Butterfly Mornings & Wildflower Afternoons (Crafty Individuals), Queen Anne's Lace (SU), Butterfly Flourish (Deep Red)
Ink:   Smoky Slate, Memento Tuxedo Black, Peach Parfait Marker (ret SU)
Paper:   Neenah, Peach Parfait
Other:  Acetate to splatter

Enjoy!

Little Cottage in the Snow

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's time for a new challenge at CAS Christmas

My sweet friend Trina is hosting this month and she chose

I fell in love with this stamp at the retreat when I used it for this foiled card.

Of course I had to find this stamp!

I think I'll get lots of use out of it and my friends will get to use it
in my class this weekend.

This is such a simple card.  I inked the stamp with Brushed Corduroy
Distress Ink and stamped.  A little touch up with a damp waterbrush on the
cottage and the hill behind it and a bit of marker for the windows and door
and a cozy cottage scene was done.

Doesn't it make you want to snuggle go in and sit in front of the fire
with a cup of hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate?

I'll hope you'll check out the challenge and see what our fabulous Design Team
and our Guest Designer Bobby have done to inspire  you.
Then join us with your warm and cozy CAS Christmas card at

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Snowy Cottage Foiled

Hi there.  I'm glad you could stop by.

This was so hard to get a good picture of.  The Blue foil is gorgeous and this
odd angle shows it best.

It's another of the foiling cards that I did at the ESCR retreat last May.

I used some special glue on a stamp, stamped it onto cardstock,
laid a piece of foil on top and put it through the laminator.

Edited to addThe girls tell me is was Deco Foil Transfer Gel.  Here's a link.  https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Therm-O-Web-TRANSFER-GEL-iCraft-Deco-Foil-4825-MTOW4825

I had great success with it.  I've been reading that a lot of people aren't having good luck with it.  I don't have a laminator myself so I can only vouch for my two attempts.

To make the card, I die cut the image and popped it back into the frame
the die cutting made.

All that was left was to stamp the sentiment and heat embossed with clear powder.

I'm adding this to the CAS Mix Up gallery.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!
