For Queen Diane

The Queen for the Day at SCS last week was
Diane (aka fionna51)

I CASEd this beautiful card

I added a layer, used a brighter yellow
and put my design panel on the opposite side.

Makes me think of a sunny, Spring day.

Thank you for all of your wonderful and supportive comments.

I'm so glad you could stop by.

Enjoy!

Spring Garden for Queen Marie

The Queen for the Day challenges at SCS continue to honor past queens.  This week we're to revisit a past queen whose name begins with M-O.  There are so many inspiring artists in the lists that it's really difficult to choose just one.

Wish I had time to honor them all.

Since I can't do that, I chose one of my SCS friends, Marie (aka Momof5sons).  Not only is Marie a wonderful inspiration with her card but she is so encouraging with her comments.

So this is for Queen Marie inspired by this card.

The image was one of the many UFOs in my box.  I pulled out all the UFOs from this set and the Heartfelt Thanks set for my Papercrafting group to use last week.  I didn't get pictures of all the cards that they made,  but here's a few.

After they made 24 cards, there were still a lot of images left.  I was determined not to put them back in the UFO box.

I went on an OCD rampage.....

I completed 25 more cards and 1 tag.  Whew!

I had already pulled cardstock and embellishments to go with the images.  That made it pretty easy to get them all together quickly.

Guess what my customers will be getting in their packages this month?

You may wonder why in the world I had so many images from this set.  I wondered the same thing!  I remember having borrowed this set about the time I had my gall bladder out.  I spent an afternoon, day or two, just stamping all these images in different colors.  Just for fun.

That was 5 years ago.

It was time to use them up!

All supplies are Stampin'  Up! unless otherwise noted

Spring Garden for Queen Phyllis

This is the card I made for last week's Queen for the Day, Phyllis (aka tater), at SCS.  I used this card to CASE.  I really enjoyed exploring Phyllis' gallery.  So many new ideas for me there.

The image came from my UFO box.  This box is getting so full that I need to concentrate on making cards just from this box for a while!

The stamp set is a very old set called Spring Garden.  I have a lot of images that I stamped from the set.  I can probably make at least 20 cards from these images alone!

Shopping our Stash has asked us to use our oldest stamp.  This is probably the oldest image in my UFO box too!

Pixie's Crafty Workshop is always looking for cards made with snippets.  All but the main card were snippets.

I did a second card with another of the same image.  I had stamped it twice on the same scrap of paper.  So I thought I'd get it on a card too.

I had this piece that I had cut off the Simply Sent Happy Hello card sets that was in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  I cut the cards up to get more mileage out of them.  This was a card back that I had embossed and didn't use.  This one went together really fast.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps: Spring Garden
Ink:  Not QUite Navy, Old Olive
Paper:  Whisper White, Midnight Muse, DP (from a friend)
Other:  2 1/2" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, White Taffeta Ribbon (card 1), Nestie Lacy Scallop Circle (Spellbinders; card 1), Basic Pearls (card 1)

I think I'm going to challenge myself to only use images from my UFO box for a while and see if I can get the contents down.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Bloom for a Friend

Ach! I'm going through stampin' withdrawal! My 11 year old grandson has come to visit and since my stamping room is also the guest room, I've been bumped. Don't get me wrong. I love having Thomas here. He is a child one minute and so grown up the next. I don't get to spend enough time with him. He & Pop have gone for a nature walk (probably through a store) so I thought I'd share a card with you.

I got new stuff today and I really want to get into it. Maybe tomorrow I can reach some paper & ink and try a new stamp out. We'll see.

I made this card last Friday for the Free 4 All challenge. The challenge was to make a get well or thinking of you card and send it to a friend. It's in the mail for a former neighbor who is awaiting biopsy results.

Queen for the Day on SCS last Friday was Mothermark. She's the one that does the Teapot Tuesday challenge every week and includes a wonderful story with the challenge. I am always laughing so hard by the end of the story. What an imagination! As I was browsing through her gallery to find a card to CASE, I couldn't believe the awesome variety and talent in her cards. This is the card I decided to CASE. I hope it's not too late to post it.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Spring Garden (retired)
Ink: Regal Rose, Old Olive
Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White
Acc.: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Scallop Trim Corner & Scallop Trim Border Punches, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon

I really hope I can stamp tomorrow since I have some ideas for the CAS & TLC challenges. If not, I will just have to post some cards that I have stockpiled.

Hope you got to stamp today.
