Nature Walk on River Rock

I have really been enjoying this Nature Walk set.  It's from the Occassions Mini catalog.  I'd been inking the stamps with markers and had even done some watercoloring.  Today I just stamped everything in Basic Gray.

The Color Challenge at SCS today was to use River Rock, Basic Gray and Whisper White.  Dessert was to use a background stamp.

I've gotta tell you, this had me stumped for a while.  I thought of several possibilities, none of which really appealed to me.  Then, when I got to my stamp room this afternoon, this kind of just came together.  I'd seen, and admired quite a few cards done in this collage style and tried it on the River Rock with the Basic Gray ink.  Now, I'm not a fan of Basic Gray.  It's way down there with Soft Suede on my like list.  But, just like Soft Suede, when I use it in a color challenge, I like it!

These challenges are really wonderful for making me do something I would never have done on my own.  I get really excited when something comes together and I like it!

This card would be suitable for a man or a woman I think.  And, I believe this will go through the regular mail.  The design area is popped up.  I hope that won't cause a problem.

Oh, and I used the Sanded background stamp inked with River Rock on the large River Rock piece.  It gives a very subtle texture.  I think if you click on the picture it will enlarge so you can see the details better.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Nature Walk, Perfect Punches, Sanded

Enjoy,
Bonnie

Oh, I love this card and I really like the Basic Gray. I almost never use gray but did recently and decided I liked it. This is a great mix of colors and you made a beautiful card.
