Inking with Markers for CAS Mix Up

Hello friends.  I hope you are having a fantastic day!

It's time for a new challenge at CAS Mix Up

Using stamp inked with Distress markers, regular stamping, die cutting and stenciling with embossing paste

This month I'm the host

One of my favorite techniques is to ink my stamps with markers.  With all the stamp positioning tools available, this is easier than ever. You can add one color ink to one section, stamp and ink up another section with a different color.  It's the perfect technique for flowers, birds and butterflies, but
don't limit yourself to them.  I can't wait to see your mini masterpieces!

This card was so quick!

This sweet little Unity stamp was in my NBUS box.

I put it in my MISTI, got out some Distress Markers, colored the stems and lines
with a brown marker and stamped on Neenah card stock.

I could see spots I missed so added ink in those spots, stamped and moved
on to the flowers choosing colors for each one.

For each of the flowers, I inked with the lighter color then "thumped
with the darker color.

My friend and fellow CASsette, Joanna always inspires me with her
unique CAS Mixed Media style and I love how she adds frames to some of her cards.
So I've CASEd her.

So I cut down the other part of the die cut to make a frame, (this die is cuts an
inside-outside piece) and added it at an angled it behind the design.

I used my favorite stencil and some embossing past for texture.

Check out the fabulous designs by the Design Team joined by our
Guest Designer Chrissie (Simpy One of a Kind).

We have some video tutorials at the challenge site to give you more ideas.

I'm looking forward to seeing your cards made by inking up some stamps with markers.

Hope to see you at CAS Mix Up!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

How I love seeing your calendar, Bonnie. This image is so crisp! Love that stamp. I can't believe you got such great coverage stamping the leaves too. This is so pretty. Neat to have made your own calendar.

I love what you did! I absolutely love the Texture Scraped Paint Stencil. Can you please tell me what company whose initials is MB. For the life of me I can't figure it out. Thanks so much.

This is soft and pretty and I love the addition of the frame. The embossing paste added some very interesting texture that I really like. I'm off to watch the videos for this technique. Enjoy this holiday weekend.

Love this card! A wonderful CASE of Joanna's way of using frames but still uniquely your style. Beautiful image done in great colours! And wonderful extra texture from the embossed stencil background.

Love the background stencilling which shows off your beautiful flowers to perfection. The layout looks fabulous and yes I am inspired by Joanna too X what a fun technique and great idea to stamp the colours individually. One unique and beautiful card and thank you for the fabulous challenge Bonnie X

Incredibly professional with your this inked stamping. Love the nuances of colour on the blooms and the leaves. The red matting gives it so much elegance, a step up from mine ;) A great unique approach. The added modelling paste is perfect too, it adds so much dimension and refinement. Love it! xxx

So delicate and pretty, Bonnie! You've mastered this inking / stamping technique. The image is so intricate, but you managed to add so many beautiful colours to bring this image to life. Fun design too. Love it! xx

The flowers are so pretty, Bonnie! They are soft and yet I see shades of colors in the softness. I love your light and fluffy touch of your marker inking. I think it goes to show that you've done this technique so many times.
The angled stitched frame and the embossing paste in the background add so much interest to the card. The red matte is effective for directing the eye to the flowers. Hideko xx

Such a pretty floral image, and the inking & thumping shows it off so well with these colors. Love how you've arranged the framing & matting...and of course the texture of the background. At first I thought it was embossing, but the paste looks like it covered so smoothly! TFS & Hugs

Pretty card Bonnie . I really like the frame behind the image, not something I would ever have thought if doing!

This is a favorite technique of mine, too, Bon-Bon, and I love how precious your main panel is! That would have been stunning on its own, but like you, I'm starting to appreciate adding a bit of embossing to the base and, wow, loving the inspiration of adding a frame!! Hugs, Dolly

What a beautiful stamp and perfect for this technique Bonnie, and the angled frame shows it off so well, and love that bit of subtle WOW texture paste through a stencil in the background. x

Those flowers turned out to be gorgeous, Bonnie. I played with this technique today using my Zigs and it was a disaster. I may have to try again with my Distress markers although some are drying out. I love the added texture with the paste through a stencil.
