Watercolor Birches

Hello there.

We have rain, rain and more rain!

Today I'm sharing a bright card for CAS Watercolour.

This month our challenge is

I stamped the birch trees from the Nature's Silhouettes set with
Weathered Wood Distress ink on Tim Holtz watercolor paper.

I chose this watercolor paper because it is a brighter white.

I wet the paper around the trees with clear water and added some
Scattered Straw Distress Ink that I'd swiped on my palette
and picked up with the waterbrush.

It wasn't dark enough so I added some Fossilized Amber
ink using the same technique.

I had some Lindy's Magicals on my palette from a previous project
so I picked that up and added it at the top.

When it was dry, I inked a foliage stamp from the same set
with Peeled Paint ink, stamped off on scrap then stamped.

I masked the trees with sticky notes and stamped some
foliage between the trees.

The frame was already die cut and waiting for a home.
The "painting" was a perfect fit.

The whole design is on a piece of foam for dimension.

There's still a week to join in at
CAS Watercolour
and the Design Team with our talented Guest Designer, Ros
have lots of inspiration pieces to share with you.
I hope to see your watercolor trees in the gallery.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

This is such beautiful sunset scene, Bonnie! I just love the colors you used. And your choice of watercolor paper (TH's brighter white one) is perfect for the birch trees. The soft foliage stamping is a very nice touch! Hideko xx

Gorgeous Fall Work of Art, Bonnie. You should frame your small watercolor card. It would be a wonderful piece to display on a small palette on a table:-) I LOVE your colors, birch trees and added watercolor trees. TFS my friend. Hugs...

Wow Bonnie, this scene is just stunning! I love those trees, but it is that background sky that is on fire! The green looks like other trees and looks so pretty in this scene. I really love those birch trees. Hugs, Brenda

I know what you mean with the rain, rain, and more rain...In fact, it's raining right now where I live, and it rained yesterday, and it's supposed to rain tomorrow...

Beautiful autumn colours behind your birch tree trunks. Love the way you offset the panel to the left and the sentiment to the right!

Such a lovely background for these birch trees, the bright contrast brings them out. The green foliage with the different intensities are very convincing. Beautiful balance. Always love your framing xx

These trees are just beautiful! And I love what you've done with the background and frame too. I can see you doing a lot of cards with these trees, and it was fun reading the different products you've used on this one! TFS
