More Foiling for CAS Mix Up

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

There's still time to join in at CAS Mix Up

This time I used some Sizzix Sticky Sheet with one side adhered to white cardstock.

After it was die cut, I peeled off the liner and burnished some of a
Ranger Foil Sheet.  I found that it didn't cover perfectly.  There were a lot of
what looked like scratches where there should be foil.  No doubt it was user error.
So I laid some foil on top of the worst scratches, rubbed it good and was able to
cover most of the bare spots.

Then I replace those little inside pieces that I had poked out, peeled off the liner
and sprinkled some Dazzling Diamonds on them.  The dazzle stuck to the
scratchy places too so this has sparkle and shine.

I used the same technique to cover a small piece with red foil and used
a paper punch to get some ornaments.

The tree ended up on a piece of festive embossing and a stamped
sentiment finished the card off.

Pictures were another story.  I think I must have tried thirty times.
This is as good as I can get it!

Our wonderful Design Team have some shining examples to
share with you.  We are joined this month by the fun and talented Michele
I hope you'll check out the inspiration and join us at

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

So pretty, Bonnie! I end up with scratches with my foil too ... and that's through the laminator. Good idea to add more foil on top. The tree does sparkle as well as shine - bonus! Love the pop of the red ornaments. And fabulous texture with your dry embossed background. xx

The foil made a beautifully decorated tree. That is a great embossing folder you used too.

What a lot of work this was and it's so worth it. Your photography is just fine. It's mission impossible with anything that shines. The results are incredible, Bonnie and I just love that embossing folder you used in your background!

Oooooooh how I love this combo of sparkle and shine. The traditional seasonal colours make this beauty stand out. Truly a beauty beyond words, well worth all the effort on the foiling. Love this card design too. xxx

The foiling on this tree is so shiny and pretty Bonnie and love the red circle baubles and the white Dazzling Diamonds on the rest, and what could be better for a background than this pretty embossing folder. x

Bonnie, every bit of your efforts paid off! I love that tree die, and the glittery snow you've added to those foiled branches is SO pretty - another thing I've barely used!
I cannot believe I don't own this exquisite embossing folder - yet!
Thanks again, for inviting me to be your guest - it so was fun! xx

So beautiful and sparkly! Love the foiled exterior - the stray glitter bits certainly covered up the scratches well. I know what you mean about photographing glitter - I think I tried as many times as you did to get a good photo of my card for tomorrow's CAS Christmas post - it is so darn difficult to capture that real life sparkle!

So pretty and sparkly in traditional red and green, I don’t think it was user error... I get very spotty coverage too when I try this method. The glitter is a great idea.

This is fabulous, Bonnie! The dry embossed background is so elegant and festive. The sparkle and shine of the tree (both foil and Dazzling Diamonds) and the ornaments is so pretty!
You caught wonderful shine in the picture. Your efforts (30 times!) did pay off!

I had a similar experience using Stick-It, Bonnie. There was missing stickiness so the gold didn't cover. Love that embossing folder and see that it's retired. :( Just my luck.

:-)) I smile at the thoughts that this card has evoked. A beautiful Christmas tree in a room decorated with chains ... This is the time of my childhood and the first Christmas tree in school. It was so long ago!
