More Autumn Herbarium

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I don't know when I've had more fun playing with new products!
There isn't much color in our trees so I'm getting my "Fall fix" on cards.

You know how much I love embossing folders and I've colored the embossing on
more than one card.  Having a stamp and stencil to go with the embossing is
a brilliant idea IMHO.

The stamp is just the veins and stems of each leaf.  On this card, I stamped with
Memento Toffee Crunch ink so it wouldn't be too dark.

I still have trouble getting the stencils to always line up perfectly and found
that embossing before I colored helped.

I used blending brushes and Distress ink to add the color through the stencils, and
pretty much used the colors that the Greetery samples used.  (There are 3 stencils.)

I was glad that I got the coordinating Oblong Octagon Labels stamps and dies
and heat embossed one of the stamped frames and sentiment on vellum.
Some dimensional strips behind the frame has it popped up for a bit more dimension.

Another sample of inspiration that they had showed the stamping heat embossed
and I thought it made a very elegant card.  So I did this one...

Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card for a guy.  This one fit the bill nicely.

I did this is several colors so my stock of sympathy and thinking of you cards is
looking good for guys.  Hopefully they will stay in my stash for a long time!

Bonnie, I adore embossing, too - this folder is amazing and has the most wonderful assortment of leaves! Beautifully stencil-colored, too! Now where did I put that broom? I'd whisk over before the cat missed me!

Both cards are beautiful. Love the colorful leaves on the first one - those stencils really help with the embossed areas. The second card is so elegant and lovely. Have a great weekend my friend.

The inking is so naturally beautiful on those leaves, Bonnie. Thanks for sharing that card with us at Just Us Girls. It is amazing how the simple gold embossing of those veins and stems on a dark cardstock made such an elegant sympathy card. So sorry you needed one.
