Rust and Yellow for Color Hues

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's time for another challenge at Color Hues.

This time the challenge is brought to us by my sweet friend Marcia.
She chose.....

Aren't they perfect for Fall cards?

I've die cut the sunflower blossoms four times from So Saffron and Pale Papaya
cardstock, then colored with tiny blending brushes and Distress Inks.

I stacked the two yellow and two rust with alternating petals and popped
a die cut center over each.

Leaves were die cut from a snippet of kraft cardstock and I sponged the
edges with some Toffee Crunch ink.

This leafy embossing folder has an unembossed circle in the center that's
perfect for adding the sentiment.

Now let's go over to Color Hues and see what the my talented friends have done to inspire you.

I hope you'll create a card using Rust & Yellow and add it to the gallery at

Please only use hues of these two colors. Neutrals are welcome.
Challenge ends at 9:00 AM on October 14th.

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge and the overall
winner will have the opportunity to be a future Guest Designer.

Most importantly, just have fun!

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Super Day (PB)
Ink:   Soft Suede (SU), Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge (DI), Memento Toffee Crunch
Paper:   Neenah Natural, So Saffron, Pale Papaya
Other:  Autumn Serenade EF (SB), Sunflower Serenade dies (SB)

Beautiful card Bonnie. Your sunflowers are so pretty and I love the shading on them. The embossed background is perfect for the lovely blooms.

Those flowers sure are pretty - red and yellow is my favorite color combination, never thought of red and rust but I know I like it. I see you post most every and I wonder how in the world do you make cards so fast. There is always some thing interesting, be it an embossed background or the die cuts you use. You painting is always beautiful. And a good example is today where you use interesting techniques I have never thought of.
