Valentines in Red

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm trying to get those valentines done so they might get to their
destination before Valentine's Day.  The mail these days isn't running
very fast and hand delivery isn't much faster.

Both of these cards were done using an older Memory Box embossing folder.  It
looks like it's not available from Memory Box anymore but you may be able
to find a similar one.

For the first card, I die cut a heart using a matching Memory box die.
Fitting the heart back in the piece, I embossed it.

Then I patted a white pigment ink pad on the embossed card to
show the detail in the embossing.

A smaller heart was cut and embossed to pop over the space
left from cutting the larger heart.  I had placed a square of vellum over the out cut
first for less of a stark white contrast.

I found this key already cut out and added it.  I think I need a lock to go with it.

Next up....

For the next card, I used the embossed and inked cut out heart directly on a white
embossed piece then added a smaller white embossed heart and smaller hearts too.

I added this beautiful Regency bow and a die cut sentiment for good measure.

Two gorgeous cards Bonnie. Love the embossing, hearts, and especially the key on the first card. I hope these get to the recipients in time. I agree, the mail doesn't seem to be running fast these days. Have a wonderful weekend.

Two fabulous heart cards, Bonnie. That key is so ornate and a wonderful way to unlock the heart. The ribbony bow is a great topper for the embossed hearts. Thanks for sharing your cards with us at Just Us Girls.

Love is in the air - I thought that key was real- a real metal key. Boy was I fooled! Both cards are wonderful and your second card is fabulous. I love that bow. And of course I really love red and white together.

Lovely cards Bonnie, it is always very satisfying to use up spare bits on a second card. Well done xx
