Velvet Star

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I've had another chance to play with that velvet paper.
I remembered that I had a sheet of similar paper in white that came in a
kit several years ago.  I put them together and came up with this card.

I was inspired by the Mood Board at the Peace on Earth Challenge.

I love the red and white and spotted those sweet stars in the top right corner.
Originally I was going to cut a red plaid star and discovered the back side of the
paper would be perfect to hang a star from.  So I went with the velvet paper.

There are already pine branches on the paper but I wanted more so I stamped
some with an old wood mount stamp.

I spent far too much time trying different sentiments and finally gave up and
went without.  Maybe I'll discover the perfect one before it goes out.  There's a little
bit of time to figure that out.

Challenges:
ABC Christmas:  A is for ATG Christmas, B is for Bright
Peace on Earth #105: Inspired by the Stars in the upper right and the red and white on upper left

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Pine Branch (Inkadinkadoo)
Ink:   Shaded Spruce
Paper:   Kraft, Gray Texture (?), Velvet (AZ & SSS), Patterned Paper (Scrapbook Customs)
Other:  Stitched Star Basic (Dress My Craft), A2 Thin Frames, Linen Thread

Enjoy!

Your darling little red velvet heart speaks for itself, Bonnie, and packs a whole lot of joy! Your stamped pine branches are lovely that linen twine is the cherry on top!

I don't know anybody that enjoys designing and making cards more than you do Bonnie.
Such a clever design - your star is really hanging and the pine branch top right really looks real!
I am just now getting up - haven't had my morning tea yet.
It's time to make some Valentines!

I love plaid but the reverse side of that paper was perfect for hanging your red velvet star, Bonnie. Adding more branches was such a great idea too and I'm not opposed to leaving sentiments off cards.

Love your red velvet star - so pretty. It is perfect hanging from those pine branches. I like how you added extra pine branches too and glad you used this paper instead of the plaid. I think this paper lets your lovely star just shine
