Full Bloom Wisteria

Hi peeps.

It's almost time for the Wisteria to bloom around here.

That's what this Penny Black stamp makes me think of.

This is such a versatile stamp!

I used it HERE for a Christmas card.

We used this stamp for a card at class last weekend.

This little image was from a test piece.

The Flower Challenge was on my mind, so I cut a piece of the image

and used that sketch.  It's one of my favorite layouts.

I hope it's OK to add the sentiment.  I knew this would be perfect for my DB & SIL 

for their anniversary.

Here's the card we did in class.

Using the MISTI makes inking this a breeze!

I raided my butterfly box so they could add a little something extra to the card.

I tend to do this little butterfly in multiples to have on hand.

Colored with Rich Razzleberry is my favorite, but they had many choices of colors.

Pink and Green Penny Black Tulips for CAS Watercolour

Hello and welcome.

I was fishing in my UFO box and found this image.

I know it was watrcolored but I'm not sure just how I did it.

I probably inked it with Distress Markers, stamped and moved the ink
with an Aqua Painter.

Or I could have inked the stamp with markers and stamped onto
wet watercolor paper.

Or, I could have inked it with markers and spritzed it.

Usually that doesn't work well for me so probably not.

Partial Inlaid Die-cut Iris

Hi friends.

You may remember that we're doing Inlaid Dies at CAS Mix Up this month.

I wanted the flower to stand out a little so I inlaid the stem and leaves and 

used dimensionals behind the slightly shaped flower.

The iris was cut from the woodgrain paper and colored with Zig CCRBM.

It was fit into a piece of smooshed Mixed Media paper, matted and added

to the piece of woodgrain paper the iris was cut from.

I colored behind the flower lightly with a Blender Pen and some Zig smeared on a palette.

It would have been easier to do that before I inlaid the die.

Live and learn....hopefully!

My mixed media are stamping, inlaid die cutting, and smooshing.

Full Bloom Nandina

Hello stampers.

I'm trying to keep up with my Christmas card stash by doing the Merry Monday Challenge.

Debbie is the host this week and she chose....

 I just happened to have this stamp out for a class and had a Eureka moment!

Why not stamp it to look like the Nandina that we have here.

I love to use the red berries in Christmas decorating because 

they are soft and drape beautifully.

I had the stamp in the Mini MISTI and inked it up a portion at a time

with SU Markers.  I added a few other leaves to fill in a bit.

Easy Peasy and it was done.

Levitating Chicks for Darnell

Hello stampin' peeps!

I have a slight boo boo (although my friend thinks it's fun as is)

I had seen cards on line with these chicks stacked and thought they were so cute.

After I stamped, I realized I needed to do some masking.

Can't you just hear that middle check saying "where do you think you're going"?

Anyway, when I realized what was going on with these biddies, I set them aside 

in preparation for Darnell's April Fool's Boo Boo Blog Hop & NBUS Challenge.

I did get a card done that I wouldn't be afraid to send out.

This is her first outing on my blog so it is sort of a NBUS.

But truth be told, I had used this stamp for a class before this card.

and this one for another class.

 There's been a lot of cackling going on around the studio!

It's been great fun!
