Hello.
Today is the last day of our CAS Mix Up October Challenge
and I had one more card I'd done using layered stencils.
It's not as CAS (Clean And Simple) as my cards usually are.
Julia is hosting this month and she chose.....
I have layered a layered stencil leaf over a stenciled background.
So I have stamping, layered stenciling, regular stenciling, watercolor and die cuts.Lots of inspiration over there.
The leaf was cut from a piece of not so good watercolor that had been set aside for die cutting.
After cutting it out, I stenciled with 3 different stencils:
Crackle (with Spiced Marmalade), Shimmer (with Rich Razzleberry)
and Falling Snow (with Gathered Twigs).
I've listed the manufacturers below.
Just an example of using the failures for something else.
I thought the green made the leaf look more realistic.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!
Card Recipe
Stamps: Botanical Silhouettes (PTI)
Ink: Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Faded Jeans, Mustard Seed (for birches), Spiced Marmalade, SU Ink (Rich Razzleberry)
Paper: Watercolor (Arches CP), Neena
Other: Stencils: Aspen Trees (TCW), Crackle (Plaid), Shimmer (MB), Falling Snow (SSS), Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz Re-inker for watercolor, Leaflets Framelits (SU)

Beautiful! I love the way you did the leaf and yes, it does look real too! I have that background stencil and never know what to do with it. Thanks for the inspiration! Love your card.

What a beautiful card Bonnie and amazing that the leaf came from a not so good piece of water colored paper...it looks absolutely FABULOUS now! The stenciling looks like it was always meant to be there and it looks so pretty against your lovely background! GREAT card my friend!! :0)
Your leaf is awesome Bonnie. Great job of layering different stencils on a die-cut ... would never have thought to do that. Your background is so pretty with the bright blue. Love that stencil! xx
Wonderful colouring, a Fabulous card.

Just love how you did the trees with the beautiful blue inking, Bonnie - so great with that leaf!! Stunning!!
Pretty awesome failure, I must say! The leaf is just fabulous, and I would never have thought to set it atop that wonderful blue fall sky & birches. That is just pure stunning with the vivid fall colors and the wonderful EF scene. Well done indeed! TFS & Hugs (I heard S'burg got hit pretty hard in places with the tornados that set down. We just had some heavy driving rain, and some strong wind. Thank goodness)
Love your leaf over the most appropriate background Bonnie - a fabulous card
Blessings

What a fabulous mixed media card and yet keeping it CAS. Great colours, great stencils and love that leaf. Great idea to keep the watercolour card to die cut at a later date x
Love that birch stenciled background with the blue, so pretty. That watercolored leaf looks great over that background. TFS
Wonderful colors on your birch background Bonnie! and your autumn leaf is just beautiful layered over the trees! that black twine adds a great pop of contrast! Thanks so much for creating so many beautiful layered stencil cards for my challenge! Julia xx
Spectacular and inspiring is your card! I agree: Even not so great backgrounds can look awesome when used with dies as your gorgeous leaf demonstrates perfectly!
Every time I go up north I'm enamored with the birch trees once again. I love how they look on your card, Bonnie, with that giant stenciled leaf.
How creative to layer your layered stencils die cut leaf over your stenciled birch trees background. TFS Bonnie. Hugs
Those not so good pieces of pieces be they patterned, stamped or watercolored often make good die cut parts. Your leaf is perfect for fall with its mottled colors. Your card is awesome, but definitely not CAS. I joined a CAS swap this week to motivate myself to try it out. We'll see what happens.
Love the multiple stencil layered leaf on top of the stenciled birch trees - beautiful sense of walking in an autumn wood.
Bonnie, this is amazing, I love the effect of the stencil layers on the leaf.
What a great idea to back that real-looking fall leaf with the woods and the brilliant background behind that! Another stunner, Bon-Bon!! Hugs, Dolly
What a beautiful symbol of autumn! In Poland, sometimes in October it is as beautiful as on your card. Blue sky, still green grass and golden leaves. We are talking about this period "Polish gold autumn" You perfectly caught it on your card.
