Snail Mail

Hi there.  I hope you are having a good week.

We are having a welcome taste of Fall today.
It will be hot again in a couple of days, so I'm enjoying this gorgeous weather.

One of my dear friends recently took a tumble.
(That's a nice way to say she fell.)

She is in rehab now and will have a long recovery
not being able to put her weight on her leg for 3 to 4 months.

Ouch!

So she's moving a little slow these days and can use a lift.

I hope this lifts her spirits.

I've stamped this on a snippet of watercolor paper with
Archival ink and did a quick watercolor with my Zigs.

The front die cut piece is mounted on a foam sheet holding
the acetate a little away from the design.

It's a little tight doing a shaker this way and the little
shaker thingys want to get stuck.

Actually I think I like that better than them all landing at the
bottom of the window.

Here's a close up.

I'll take this over to Penny Black Saturday Challenge
"Anything Goes - Optional On the Move"
(Feature some form of transport)

Now I need to get this in the mail.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

This is so darn cute Bonnie and I'm sure it will lift your friends spirits! No weight bearing for 3 - 4 months is a loooooong time! We've been having a few days of Fall here too and I've been loving it, but it's back to the 90's this weekend...yuck! Darn, guess I'll have to stay in my craft room!! :0)

I cannot imagine anyone having to stay off one's feet for 3 months. This adorable card will certainly lift the spirits of your friend! Hot weather due here in New Jersey again next week, but we'll also have cooler nights so it won't be like the oppressive heat we had in July.

Oh my gosh, 3 to 4 months of staying off your leg is forever. She needs this adorable card to cheer her up. I love the shaker and the fun sequins in it. The little snail is so cute and the bright yellow is a perfect cheer up color.

Your poor friend She will adore this precious card. I like how you use this die and I need to cut some and then make fun cards like this.

What a perfect card for your friend who's moving slowly after injuring her leg! I love the shaker, and I agree, it's nice that all the shaker pieces don't fall to the bottom.

Sorry to hear your friend had a boo-boo, but oh, is this ever the perfect card to cheer her up. Love that window (and I have that die as a NBUS too!) and it shows off your shaker snail just delightfully. I like the way your sprinkles stayed on the acetate too. Hugs to your friend and have a wonderful wkend. It was cooler here today as well(low 80-s), but still felt pretty hot! TFS

This is adorable Bonnie. I'm sure this will cheer up your friend. It's so adorable and funny ... and the shaker element adds even more fun! :) Great design! xx

This is adorable, Bonnie! I can relate to the acetate being not high enough to let the sequins shake since the same thing happened to me. I do like the effect when that happens. That image is just adorable and gorgeous job watercoloring him!

I'm so sorry for your friend Bonnie, recover is a long road but this card should give her the incentive to geter done! This is the problem I have with my shaker cards as well, but like you I kinda' like it because all the bits don't sink to the bottom. I love this image, it is so dang cute! Hugs, Brenda

This is so adorable, Bonnie! Your Zig coloring makes the cute mouse and snail even cuter. The perfect image for the occasion and the fun shaker element will sure cheer up your friend! I thought you glued the sequins and tiny beads on purpose (as some card-makers do). Happy accident! :-) Hideko xx

Eeekkk! So adorable, Bonnie! It will definitely lift your friend’s spirits. Beautiful watercolouring and loving the shaker element. I usualky glue some random sequins so they still show even when upright... the fact that you difn’t have to do that is perfect. Lucky you!
Wishing your friend a speedy recovery. xx

I also think that the tight shaker works very well. You can see a sequin game, not a sad pile at the bottom of the shaker. And your sweet image will certainly help your friend. I admire your technique of coloring the picture, this shell looks dazzling.
