Iced Watercolor

Hello friends.  Welcome!

Today I'm reminding that there's still time to join in at
CAS Mix Up

CAS Mix Up
is hosted by the very talented Mac.

I used the Black Ice Technique and I've got to say that I was amazed at the results!

The pictures don't do it justice!

I used a small piece of silver foil cardstock and swiped some
Jet Black StazOn over it.

I let that dry then swiped some VersaMark over it and
covered it with clear embossing powder and heated it.

The shine is incredible!

I die cut with this darling watering can and shaped it with a bone folder.

For the background, I used some Distress ink smooshed on a piece of acetate
and spritzed to add a splotch on the base of my watercolor paper and
a watercolor pencil and water brush to add some ground.

The flowers are die cuts from a dear friend.  I kept all the pieces intact
and used Zigs and a water brush to color them.

I arranged them using dimensionals atop some stamped wildflowers.

The design piece was die cut and the base card was embossed with a larger die.

The card is larger than I normally make.  It's an A7 size.

My CAS Mix Up mixed media are:
Metal using the Black Ice Technique, stamping, acetate smoosh, watercolor, die cuts, embossing with a die and heat embossing.

Our Design team with fabulous Guest Designer Pat have lots of
inspiration for you.  I hope you'll check them out and add to the gallery.
Challenges end on the 24th.

I'll also add this to the gallery at The CAS Watercolour Challenge
where we're celebrating our 2nd birthday with prizes!

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

I LOVE your Black ice technique for your faux metal watering can, Bonnie. I have not tried that technique yet, but you sure have me inspired. I love your pretty Fall colored flower bouquet with your die cut crocus and leaves. Your added grounding and framing turned out perfectly too. TFS my friend. Hugs...Nancy

So CLEVER! This water canister looks like the real thing, you got great dimension with the Black Ice Technique. The shadowing really brings out the cylindrical shape. The pop of orange is a beautiful contrast too. Another beauty dear friend xx

Wow, what a terrific card....love the watering can. So many interesting touches...the background, simple but"there"; the black ice technique, striking; the die cut flowers on top of stamped wildflowers, so clever and easy to do but makes such difference. You are my hero when it comes to design!!

What a brilliant idea to use the black ice technique to create the metal watering can! And the crocus dies make perfect autumn-blooming crocosmias - mine only just finished blooming. The faded brown wildflowers add to the lovely autumn feel of the bouquet. Love this card!

Oooh Bonnie this is gorgeous! The black ice technique has worked beautifully on your watering can, and the flowers you have zigged look fabulous inside it. I also love the die cut stitched mat on top of the larger embossed frame which finishes it so perfectly. x

This is just beautiful. The flowers are lovely and the water can looks like it came brand new straight from the potting shed all shiny and metallic. I love the black ice look.
