Serendipity Chickadees Inking with Markers

Hello friends and welcome.

I have some watercolor chickadees from Serendipity.

I'm really enjoying my Serendipity stamps and
the little chickadees are some of my favorite birds.

I placed this stamp in my MISTI and inked the birds first
with Distress Markers.  After each stamping, I moved the color
with a water-brush then stamped again.

I followed the same procedure for the pine boughs and cones.

I could have made this into a Christmas card but decided to use it
as an anniversary card for my sister and brother-in-law.

I hope they like it.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Bonnie, I have this stamp and now you have made me realise I didn't ink it up once this year. You did an amazing colouring job using your markers. I love all the shading and also live that wood grain embossed background.

Outstanding water coloring on those chickadees, Bonnie! Love the detail in the wings and on the pinecones as well as the beautiful soft wash for your background. This technique is not always easy but you mastered it. Fabulous card!

That's excellent coloring on a lovely image! Serendipity Stamps has so much beautiful artwork and I'm a very hesitant colorer, but you're inspiring me to try again. Thank you for sharing this!

Fabulous anniversary card for your Sister and BIL, Bonnie! They'll love this love birds. :-)
Your watercoloring is as beautiful as ever, both coloring of the images and the background wash. The woodgrain dry embossing adds interest and a feeling of nature/forest, which is a perfect place for these chickadees.

Oh yes Bonnie I'm loving this sweet card, great use of the Misti, and using the wet brush to move colour I'll have to give that a go... the happy couple will love it.

Super birds coloured beautifully Bonnie and the slightly different woodgrain background in the white adds interest without overpowering those pretty birds. x

You have to start doing larger watercolours. This precious bird duo has been uplifted by this painting. The aqua matting and wood panel definitely work very well in framing this gorgeous piece. Lovely xx
