Watercolor Vellum Iris

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Here's another card from the retreat.

Susan had us doing different watercolor techniques on vellum.

I die cut this iris from vellum and used Zigs to watercolor.

The trick is to use just a damp brush.  Too much water makes the vellum curl
out of control!

I used my script embossing folder and a die cut frame that was in the box.

The iris is really purple.  My camera is still not cooperating!

I'm taking this over to
ANYTHING GOES: Optional Stamp off the Edge

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!
Card Recipe
Paper:   Vellum, Neenah
Other:  Single Iris (PB), Zigs, Rectangle Frame Die (PB?), Large Words EF (Kwan Crafts)

After all the raspberries I've given you over blue, Bonnie, I have to tell you this is my favorite of all Iris colors! lol
What a gorgeous card - and I never tire of that scripty embossing!

So elegant, Bonnie. So glad I got to see it IRL... it’s just stunning! In awe of how rich and vivid your colouring on vellum is. It pops beautifully against that fabulous script background. Love! xx

Gorgeous watercoloring with Zigs over vellum, Bonnie. Love your vibrant colors and how you tucked your pretty iris in and out of the frame. The dry embossed script background was the perfect extra touch. TFS my friend. Hugs....

This brings back such fond memories of Crescent Beach, Bon-Bon! I loved your card there and I love it here! The embossed text background adds so much interest and using a frame to adhere vellum is genius!! Hugs, Dolly

This is so beautiful. Your vellum iris is so delicate, but bold with colour. Amazing design with the framed script background and your stem tucked through. Great memories of our time together! :) xx

Your irises look really amazing. I love their deep purple, it is quite difficult to achieve on the vellum. And thank you for the tip of how to work with vellum.
Hugs,
