Beach Front

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by.

Today I'm dreaming of the beach.

A sweet friend gave me this stamp by Art Impressions.
I'm so glad she did.  It's the closest I'll get to the beach this year.

It was hard getting a loose watercolor look on something this small,
but I think I managed pretty well.  The scene looks quite welcoming.

The image was stamped on mixed media paper and watercolored with
my Koi half pans.

I've used an embossing plate to give some texture to the background and
distressed the frame a bit to make it more masculine.

NBUS #17: Never Before Used Schtuff

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

This is such a lovely beach scene--great coloring. The texture added by the embossing plate sets it off. I will enjoy thinking about the beach today -- thank you for that!

You've managed your loose water-coloring very well, Bonnie! I might have needed a magnifier to paint those sweet beach-y elements so well!
Love your choice of card stock here... very 'sandy!'
If it weren't for Covid, I'd gladly invite you to our beach... one day?

I, too, am living vicariously through all these beach cards this summer. Love the scene and you watercolored it beautifully. I would have missed the texture on the panel, it looks great.

Hi Bonnie! I love this image and the way you used layering and the distressed emboss to make the whole card feel "beach-y"! It's perfect! I'm hoping we can make it to the OBX when tourist season is over and it will be a bit easier to social distance! : ) Take care!

Another lovely gift from a friend! This is a beautiful beach scene. You'd be blown away on our beaches today, and it's not even a hurricane.

Your beautiful card reminds me of European resorts (even though I've never been any of those places), Bonnie! Love the distressed edges of the matte, the textured panel, and the color palette!

p.s. I forgot to write in the previous comments: I'm so glad that you were safe and didn't have any big problems in your area during the hurricane. I saw some pictures of flooded areas...

Now this is different and truly I adore it. This loose watercolouring gives it a vacation appeal. The roundabout sentiment is precious too. As usually your framing is impeccable. Such harmony. Thanks for sharing dear friend.
