Gerbera in a Box

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Today I have a fancy fold card to share.

Last year my friend Michele shared this card and I was fascinated.
She assured me that it was an easy technique.

Well, I'm fold challenged, so I wasn't sure.  But I kept the idea alive.

Julie's Power Poppy Challenge last week inspired me to give the box card a try.

It only took me two tries to get it right!

The image is a Power Poppy Digital colored with Zigs.

For the back I die cut a pocket from another
Power Poppy Gerbera, colored with Copic Markers, and tucked a tag into it.

Here's a view of the inside.

Curious about the challenge?

My initials are BK (Use Red & Yellow)
My birthday in in July so I tried a new technique.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Gerbera Daisies, Kindness is the Way (PP Digis), Lavender (PP clear stamp)

Brilliant card. I followed the links back and watched the video. This is a new card shape to me too. It's out anniversary this week so I might try and make one for Hubby. Hugs Mrs A.

These are so unusual, Bonnie! Kudos for the amazing fold, something I too find challenging. When I saw these I zoom in to your amazing coloring. I’m in awe of your shading on these. Beautiful work and once again, thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks for sharing your stunning card. The coloring is beautiful and the highlights look terrific. I watched the video and I think I can master this. I understand when you said you are fold challenged because I am box challenged. Every time my SU demo made a box she had to stand there with me to show me how to glue it together! For some reason my mind does not work that way. You did a fantastic job with this card. I'll be thinking of you and hoping you are far enough away from the coming storm making it's way up the coast.

Bonnie, consider your 'fold challenged' status completely conquered! SO beautifully, with these sweet daisies! Your pocket on the back provides the perfect place for a special thought, or gift card, too! LOve the little circle for added interest, and dimension!
Thanks so much for the shout-out, Bonnie! xx

I'm full of admiration for your special fold cards! They look incredibly fiddly to make. The gerberas are gorgeous - wonderfully coloured!

Amazing box card Bonnie!! That looks difficult to me. I love the dimension and how you can add something special on the back as well. LOVE your colouring of your gerbera daisies. Adding the black shading really adds so much depth to each petal on the flowers. And I LOVE the centers of your red daisies ... perfect! You are so talented, my friend! xx

Oh my gosh Bonnie, I think I blew some brain cells looking at your card, wondering how you did that! I didn't realize the die-cut was not attached to the base and, seriously, just stared at your card! LOL! It turned out to be a beauty! Isn't it so fun to stretch yourself and try new things?

Why is it that every time I see one of your cards I mentally start singing!!! When I saw these beauties I started singing "I've got my eye on you" - now where did that come from.
Never a dull moment around the zoo - bad weather skipped us and I have no idea how the hurricane affected Cary.
Thinking of you - Sandy xx

Wonderful box card, I love that circle and how you added the frame and allowed it to sit outside the card edge. Lovely idea. Really like the back too. Well done for pulling off something that is not the norm for you xx
