Squeeze the Day

Hi there.  I'm glad you stopped by!

We are blessed here today.  Hurricane Isaias scooted by our area
without any big problems.  We had a lot of rain but not a lot of wind.

 Some areas weren't as blessed.

Sending prayers for those who are assessing their losses and cleaning up.

Onto today's card.

I used a stamp and die that a dear friend gave me for my birthday.

When I saw this inspiration photo, I new I had to play.

I did some selective stamping and colored the image with Copic markers.

I used another birthday present under the image and embossed subtle
texture to the piece behind in honor of the pillows.

I had a few messy spots and the little bees from Power Poppy worked
perfectly to cover them up.  Some of them anyway...

Wondered how it would look watercolored.

What do you think?

Two beautiful cards Bonnie, I love the lemon theme of your cards especially the first the sentiment and the bees are perfect. Colouring on both is amazing. Well done with the copics and water colouring :)

Good use of your birthday presents! These cards make me think "happy". Fun to see the difference in same image colored with copics and with watercolor.

Thanks for the update about the storms. I'm glad you are okay and no damage. I love both of these but the bees are so cute. Pretty water colored card and I like the "Sweet" die you used. Congratulations on your win at KathyRac!

What do I think? I think these are so beautifully colored that they make me pucker - and want pie!
Gorgeous lemons, Bonnie! Their little flowers remind me of my 'final bake' in Culinary school! Though mine were made from gum paste - and [thank goodness] not one bee!
I'm so happy to see them in our IB gallery this week - thanks so much for playing!!

Glad the hurricane missed you Bonnie, though as you say others were not so lucky. I love both cards using these pretty lemons and love the little daffodil flowers and sweet bees, and a fun sentiment too. Your second card has worked really well too with the watercolouring insted of Copics, so bright and wonderful designs of both with the different finished looks with mats and frames. Gorgeous! x

My gosh, Bonnie, I'm in awe of your coloring and water coloring. I honestly studied your colors for quite a while. I love the mix of colors adding a little green to the lemons making them look so realistic. Both of these are so well done.

Two very sweet cards! I don't see any "messy" spots, so you've masked them perfectly -- bees to the rescue! Hope your Birthday was wonderful!

Your wonderful coloring make the lemons look delicious and 3D, Bonnie! It's so interesting to see the difference between the Copic coloring and the watercoloring. Both cards are fantastic!

Gosh, I love both of these and don't have a preference. The first has a fun look to it with the deeper contrast and the bees and the whimsical sentiment. The second is soft and painterly. Really like how the die cuts this. You did such a beautiful job on these. I'm so glad to hear you're okay after the hurricane. I've been wondering about each of my east coast blog friends.
