Merry Snowflakes

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I have a slimline card for the Christmas stash.

I used a Slimline Stencil from Stamplorations pressing VersaMark through it
then heat embossing with white powder.

When the embossing had cooled, I used my stencil brushes to add some
Distress Oxide ink over the whole piece.  I used Tumbled Glass first and dried,
then gently added some Wilted Violet here and there and let it dry.

I needed it darker and used some Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink since I didn't
have a dark blue in the Oxides.

After buffing the embossing to remove excess ink, I matted it and popped it
on a card base and added some sparkly die cut snowflakes on top.

I kept thinking it needed some red so I tied a sparkly, die cut sentiment with
some red twine.  Some stickers added a finishing touch to the center of the snowflakes.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Very clever with the sparkly die cuts over the stencil embossed ones on that beautiful blue background. And that cheerful touch of red to finish it all off!

Great card Bonnie, I always struggle getting a crisp image with embossing ink through a stencil but love the effect you got :)

Love the colour you got by adding some Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch to the Tumbled Glass! The red sentiment and twine are a great contrast. Beautiful embossed snowflakes and great idea to add the die cut ones on top.

What a beautiful slimline card Bonnie! I love the way you used a stencil and heat embossed your snowflakes adding a glittery die cut snowflake on top. Your background is beautiful, the little bit of wilted violet gives the "cold, frosty" feel to the scene. The pop of red with the sentiment and cording is so pretty too. Love this slimline card! Hugs, Brenda

Pretty snowflake card, Bonnie! Adding Wilted Violet adds depth to the blue background and gives it a watercolor-look. Layering the glitter die-cut snowflakes over the heat-embossed ones is a wonderful technique. The red sparkly die-cut sentiment with red twine definitely adds fun and festive feelings!
