Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
What is going on in Ukraine is beyond disturbing.
So many are displaced, having to leave their beloved country.
I am privileged to know a young man from Ukraine.
He is a high school junior on exchange here. We volunteer together and
have had a little chance to talk about his family.
Thankfully they are in Poland now in a refugee camp.
Not the best situation but they are safe.
When I saw that Color Hues was asking for cards to honor Ukraine
and to send the card, I had to join in.
I used the colors of their flag and a sunflower.
If you would like to send him a card, let me know through the contact form on my sidebar.
And please keep the people of Ukraine in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you, my friends.

What a beautiful way to honor Ukraine. Glad your friend's family is safe. Love your beautiful card. Thanks for joining the Color Hues challenge.
THAT was a freebie??? OH my goodness how gorgeous - you've really made this special for your young friend, Bonnie! He's going to love it! Very happy to know that his parents are safe, but it's so sad given they had little choice.

Beautiful card Bonnie and I'm sure your young friend will love it, along with knowing you are praying for his family and country! It's so hard to watch the news these days, and my heart just continues to break over what the Ukrainian people are facing. I hope and pray this madness ends soon, but in the mean time we will just keep preaching love & hope one card at a time. Hugs. :0)
The most perfect card Bonnie and made with love for your young friend. All of Ukraine is in my thoughts and prayers and I stand in solidarity with them Bonnie x.
I have to echo Michele...that was a freebie?! Nice! And what a lovely card you made for your young friend. My heart is breaking.
Nice freebie. Your card is clearly heartfelt and made with love.
You've made a beautiful card for your friend. I can't understand the madness happening in the heart of Europe right now. I hope your friend stays safe.

Your card is infinitely beautiful and expressive, Bonnie. I'm worried about the future of Ukraine as well aching for the people and what they're currently going through.
Your card is just lovely. My heart is breaking too, and they are all in my prayers.

Love the juxtaposition of the white embossed outline sunflower against the flag Bonnie.
Thanks for joining us at Color Hues. :)
So beautiful, Bonnie. Combining the flag colours with the sunflower makes for a perfect tribute to Ukraine.
I love the blue and yellow smooshed background Bonnie, and the white embossed star shines out beautifully over the top and the perfect sentiment too. A great card to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine. x
The background looks just like their flag, Bonnie, and that fabulous sunflower looks right at home in the middle of it. Saying prayers for that young man and his family. It must be difficult being so far from home with all that's happening but I'm so glad his family is now safe
A gorgeous card and great design! I love the color blended background with the embossed sunflower on top---and what a fabulous sunflower it is! Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!
Gorgeous and encouraging card, Bonnie! Your young friend will love it and appreciate your kindness. The big sunflower looks full of energy, and the Ukraine's blue sky and their wheat fields make their awesome national flag.

the perfect card to honour Ukraine, love the flower and the flag ♥
Wow, that's a cool sunflower image, Bon, and such a perfectly beautiful choice for your yellow and blue design for Ukraine! The good Lord is certainly being bombarded with prayers to stop the madness. Hugs, Dolly
Bonnie, Your card just totally caught my attention as I was scrolling the gallery at Color Hues! Life is certainly harder than we ever had thought it could be but have to be so grateful I am still here at home. Glad your friend and his family are safe. Take care and thanks for playing in our special challenge!
This card is just brilliant, I love how you have incorporated the sunflower xx
Ukraine is definitely in my thoughts and prayers, I just can't even image what all these poor people are going through. But I'd never wish it on my worst enemy. I am so glad you have an exchange student locally from Ukraine to give your card to. I am so happy that his family is safe, a refugee camp not the best situation like you said, but at least they are safe thankfully. Your card is just beautiful. It represents Ukraine well and I'm sure this young man will appreciate it! Hugs, Brenda
Gorgeous card, Bonnie! So happy the young man you know knows his family is safe. It must have been very difficult and heartbreaking for him until he knew they were out of harm's way.
Perfect time to use this bold freebie. You’ve brought it to life and combined their flag and flower brilliantly. 💙💛
I have a couple of cards for this challenge that I hope to finish when I feel better, so I will contact you for your friend’s contact info. Glad he and his family are safe. 🇺🇦
Lovely card Bonnie, I am working on a card now and then will be creating a few more. This whole situation is just heartbreaking! So glad to hear the young mans family is safe.

Gorgeous card filled with Love and Caring Thoughts for the horrific tragedies occurring in the Ukraine. I was relieved to hear your friends family are safe. Sending prayers that the war ends soon, but I am afraid it is going to take much more than prayers. TFS your beauty, my friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy
such a gorgeous card. The devastation in Ukraine is heartbreaking and the Devils work. Power and greed are a terrible thing. I think we are all feeling a bit helpless with first dealing with Covid and now watching this unfold.
hope you are well mf.
xx Karen
We are all moved by Russia's assault on Ukraine. Until a few months ago, none of us would have believed that nowadays someone could attack another nation for some made-up ideas. In a civilized world, such things do not happen, it seems that not all nations have become civilized in the meantime. In Poland, we are wholeheartedly with the Ukrainian nation.
This card is beautiful, very symbolic, because sunflowers are the national flower of Ukraine. A great support card for Ukraine.
xx
