Yellow Tulips

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm not sure how I've been missing this, but Darlene & Diane have another
challenge out there.  This one is a color challenge called
COLORFUL OPTIONS CHALLENGE BLOG.

This month's color is YellowA perfect color for Spring.

Everything is yellow around here right now.  Pine pollen is falling heavily.

When I saw tulips blooming, I knew I had to pull out this NBUS stamp
that a sweet friend shared with me.  I had a great time inking and coloring.

This was going good until I got too heavy handed with the pencil trying to add
some extra color to the nooks and crannies.  I thought it was ruined.  Then...

I cut it in half and disguised the oops.

The first side wasn't too bad.  I just added some splatters and found it fit
perfectly inside a frame I'd cut for something else and didn't use.

The second card contains the oops under the butterfly.

I did a little extra stamping to make this one into a garden scene and decided some
texture would look good.  Oops. It didn't look good.  Some days.......

So I put the design piece under the embossing folder and flattened it out.
There's still a little texture, but much better in my opinion.

I left the sentiment off as I often do.  I can send it as an Easter card or
for a birthday or thinking of you.  I like having options.

WOW! These are really beautifully painted and if you had an “oops” I sure wouldn’t know it. Love how you saved the second one. Clever disguise for a mistake. Terrific blending with watercolor, something I just can’t seem to do. Two gorgeous cards, Bonnie!

These are lovely and what a great save. Cutting the design in two made two great cards. I like the garden look but both are fantastic. Inside, under, whatever works!

Your yellow tulips are beautiful. Sometimes an oops really works out. Clever to cut them in two and get two beautiful cards. The butterfly was a great way to cover a flaw, If you hadn't confessed, we would not have known. Thanks for the hint about the embossing folder.

Oh, Bonnie! I quickly looked for the name of this stamp - Splendiferous says it all! For the stamp, and both of your gorgeous cards! Beautifully colored!
No one would know there were 'oopsies' if you didn't tell us! That butterfly was aiming for that exact landing spot! x

You do such beautiful no-line coloring, Bonnie. I love the inky background on the first and the lovely garden added to the tulips on the second. What a great way to stretch your slimline dies too.

Both are just beautiful!

Two lovely cards. I too love yellow. Well done, Bonnie.

I would never have known there was an "oops" - thank goodness you salvaged it as the two cards are beautiful. Gorgeous yellow tulips, perfectly framed in the first card and so lovely in the second with the dark yellow border and the bit of twine.

Both these cards are beautiful. I like the simplicity of the first and the lovely extra stamping on the second. Were you using watercolour pencils? it is just that if they were ordinary coloured pencils a simple rubble can work it's magic and a battery operated one is even better for removing mistakes. You have dealt with them beautifully here though, well done xx

Two fabulous cards, Bonnie. You've recovered your cards from your little 'oops' incidents beautifully. xxx

Two brilliant saves Bonnie! I LOVE those happy, sunshine filled tulips. Awesome! So sweet cut in half to create two cards ... sharing the love. I like how you've added greenery and some sweet blue flowers to your second card. Great work, my friend! xx

These are beautiful! Your watercolouring is gorgeous. Would have never guessed these needed saving, but amazing save!
And thanks for introducing me to another of DD’s challenge. This looks like another fun one.

I laughed at your oops moment Bonnie...I get them all the time..lol. But this happy accident means we get two fabulous card instead of just one, and I love bright yellow for the tulips and the double stitched frame on the first, and the layering up on the second with some lovely twine, and both with different embossed backgrounds which are so pretty. x

This was an excellent post about not giving up and making art work to its best advantage. I love both your all-purpose designs, Bon, and how they came together. You brought the yellow roses to life on both cards which were beautifully composed. Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Dolly

Another card and beautiful watercolor. I really like the split of this tab where the window is not centrally located. Both cards are amazing. Great cards!

Both are beautifully done. I love that you "saved" the card. I rarely toss them out I like the challenge of making it work.

I don't think I could bear to miss one of your cards, Bonnie. They're all so beautiful! Love that you saved the other half because that one little oops covered up quite nicely with the butterfly and turned out to be a nice addition anyway. The texture on your second image panel simply looks like watercolor paper. No problem. I swoon over all of it!

Brilliant save on both of these BEAUTIFUL cards Bonnie! (I have an oops card coming up tomorrow.) And I'm jealous that you have Tulips blooming already! My snowdrops just came up (and yes, we woke up to snow on the ground yesterday...grrrrrr!!) and I'm also seeing a tiny bit of green peeking up on my Daffodils and a few other things, so I know Spring IS coming...it just takes sooooo loooooong to get here! And no, I'm not very patient!! But anyway, lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)
