Poinsettia for Color Hues

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's time for a new challenge at Color Hues.

This month our colors were chosen by the very talented Jules.

I love these colors together and they were perfect for this NBUS background
poinsettia stamp.

I bought the background stamp a couple of years ago when Wplus9 closed up shop.
I don't know why it's taken me so long to pull it out of the NBUS box.
I had so much fun making this card that I made another using a different shade of blue
that is more aqua.  It doesn't look that different in the photo though.

For both of these cards I did an emboss resist on mixed media paper.
After wetting the paper, I dropped re-inker onto the card and used a
waterbrush to "guide" the color.  It takes awhile for it to dry, but it's well
worth the wait!

Now let's go over to Color Hues and see what the my talented friends and our
fantastic Guest Designer Birgit have done to inspire you.

I hope you'll create a card using Smokey Blue and Sage Green and add it to the
gallery at Color Hues.

Please only use hues of these two colors. Neutrals are welcome.
Challenge ends at 9:00 AM on September 29th.
The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge and the overall
winner will have the opportunity to be a future Guest Designer.

Most importantly, just have fun!

Now you have me singing Joy To The World and something about the fishes in the deep blue sea. Both cards are very elegant especially the first one. And I no more understand the technique you used than a man in the moon. That's why I need to move to Cary so I could attend your classes! I definitely need to take more than one class!!! I love seeing all of your makes Bonnie.

That was a perfect technique to use with that background stamp, Bonnie. The results are beautiful and that die cut poinsettia fits right in.
