Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
It's time for fun on Friday. No challenges, just fun.
I am on a committee to support staff at a local elementary school.
I thought it would be fun to send them a card with a bookmark, hoping they
will have a chance to read for fun during the summer.
The image was stamped on a piece of cardstock with a punched top.
I heat embossed the stamping to get an nice shine.
A yellow Sharpie was handy so I colored the bee with that and blended
a bit of blue around him. My ink blending is always splotchy so I stamped
some splatters to kind of cover that up.
Without the bookmark.
A little band holds the bookmark to the front of the card which had been
embossed with a new to me (on clearance) embossing folder. I used my favorite
trick of patting with a white inkpad to highlight the raised design.
The message inside.
Our team supports four of the support staff that counsels, teaching remedial reading,
STEM & Speech therapy. Each card is a bit different.
I patted the natural embossing with a pale yellow inkpad and it was too dark
and splotchy. So I patted with the white inkpad over top and that toned it
down perfectly.
I hope you have some crafty fun today!

This is such a thoughtful gift, Bonnie, and so cute with those darling bees. You put that new embossing folder to good use and found a great way to add the bookmark. The inside sentiment is perfect.
What a wonderful way to express your appreciation for the staff that gives so much above and beyond teaching, Bonnie! That little buzzy dude is the CUTEST!

Delightful cards, fun too. x
These darling card/bookmarks are so sweet! I love your design, the band and the sweet bee. Your gift is very kind, and it's always great to support your teaching staff.
Sweet bookmarks. They're sure to delight staff and bring a smile to their faces, even during difficult times. It's good to feel supported by others. You're special for thinking of them. Both the cards, with and without bookmarks, look wonderful; they're cute, fun, and have great text inside the card.
hugs,

What a great idea and so thoughtful. Your bee is so cute and makes a great bookmark. Love the card to hold him in place and the thoughtful sentiment inside. Have a great weekend my friend.
I bet these go down really well with the lucky recipients. They are just great xx
I love Fun Fridays! What a cute Peeking Bee and pretty amazing coloring with a Sharpie! Your blending and splatters look great. I'm smitten with the embossing folder, and the extra bee you added is the cutest accent. Really great sentiments for their purpose. What a nice thing to do!
I just know your cards (and bookmark!) were appreciated by the staff with such thoughtful sentiments and that quirky bee! Love them!
This is absolutely charming and so thoughtful of you to do!
A perfect gift for school staff! And great that you volunteer to help support them. Love all the fun ways you used the bees!
What a great card and bookmark - love that bee image Bonnie - it's a real cutie, and the embossed background is perfect for it.
Love the wee sentiment tag under the bookmark

They're all fabulous, but that first little fella has stolen my heart! I love it when you ink him up!

I love this cute and fun bee Bonnie, and the background embossed honeycomb is perfect, and a great idea to make the bee topper a bookmark beautifully held in place with the added strip with another cute little bee on the side, and a lovely sentiment banner underneath when it is removed..a wonderful design. x
