Featuring Happy Thoughts

Here's a card for this week's Featured Stamper at SCS.

I chose this card to CASE from Jackie's fabulous gallery.

I used different stamps and although my colors are very similar they are a bit different.  I also rounded the corners to mimic the round petals of the flower.  I should have rounded the corners on the design piece too.  Too late for that now.

It also works for the Less is More challenge this week.  It's recipe week over there and the recipe is to
TAKE 3 CHALLENGE
Week #2 - Flower or Tree
Week #28 - Use Ink
Week #82 - 3-2-1
(3 stamps, 2 colors, 1 flower or pearl)

All supplies are Stampin ' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card recipe
Stamps:  Apple Blossom (retired)
Ink:  Garden Green, Riding Hood Red
Paper:  Whisper White
Other: Corner Rounder Punch

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Birds Sing

Jennifer nearly stumped me with the One Layer Wednesday challenge at Stylesink this week, I've got the Music in Me.

This week’s challenge is to make a one-layer musical themed card. Anything to do with music. Sheet music, musical instruments, an image of someone singing; anything that in some way relates to music.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

Yeah Jennifer, if you actually have a stamp that relates to music!

I almost ordered the Music Notes wheel last month, but took it out at the last minute.  If I'd only known!

Then I thought, birds sing!  They're the best singers!  So.......

Can you see his beak open?  He's just trilling away!  Aah, I love to hear the birds sing!

I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig again.  I've given it a workout this week!  I am getting a bit better, but it still took 3 tries to get an image I was satisfied with.  I'm learning to release it and place the stamp gently so it doesn't move.  It's slippery!

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Punch Potpourri, Apple Blossoms (both are hostess gifts), Just Believe
Ink:  Pacific Point, SU Markers (Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz)
Paper:  Whisper White
Accessories:  Stamp-a-ma-jig, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for visiting.  Enjoy!

CASEing Myself

I used this layout for the One Layer Wednesday challenge last week and I guess I kinda got stuck on it!  You can check out by scrolling down to last Friday's post.  I really like that one better than this.

This week the Less is More Challenge is a ONE LAYER CARD with the theme of a FLOWER or a TREE.

The definition of a One Layer Card is; One piece of card folded in half with no additional layers and minimal embellishments, where the image is stamped directly onto the cardstock.

I used the colors from the SCS Color Challenge this week to use Wild Wasabi, So Saffron & Pacific Point

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Greenhouse Garden, Nature Walk, Apple Blossoms
Ink:  Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black, SU Markers (So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point)
Paper:  Whisper White
Accessories:  Stamp-a-ma-jig, Generic Paper Punch, Color Spritzer Tool

I've got to admit that this is not my favorite card.  I'm not sure if it's the placement of the elements, the colors or what.  It's just doesn't zing!

Enjoy,
Bonnie

Emboss, Emboss, Emboss

I love Cherry Cobbler! The edible kind yes, but the SU color is so rich and well, red.  Deep, delicious red. And I think it compliments this design piece that I found in my UFO box.

This flower was from a Stamp Stack a few months ago and though it wasn't a perfect stamping, it held possiblilty.

I touched up the flower a bit with a blender pen & ink and then embossed it with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder to hide the rest of the imperfections.

I used the sketch challenge from SCS this week for the layout.

I stamped the #1 panel with En Francais background stamp in Cherry Cobbler.  The #3 panel is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  It was a scrap piece and a perfect fit!  And the #2 panel is embossed with my whacked Finial Press Embossing Folder.

Having 3 Embossed panels qualifies it for the Free For All Challenge, also at SCS to use at least 2 embossing folders for texture.

I love it when I can use up some of my leftovers that are taking up far too much space!  Trouble is that I keep adding to the pile at a higher rate than I use.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Apple Blossoms (Level 2 Hostess set), En Francais
Ink:  Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Accessories:  Vintage Wallpaper, Square Lattice, Whacked Finial Press EFs, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Basic Pearl

Enjoy,
Bonnie

Apple Blossom Mambo

Hello Stampin' Friends. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Did you get to stamp at all? I hope so.

This for for the CAS challenge this week. The subject is "delicious". One of the most delicious things to me in the summertime is cold watermelon.

Does this make you think of watermelon? I hope so. I wish I had some right now!

I used a Level 2 Hostess set called Apple Blossoms. We'll be using this set in my Stamp Stack in September.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Apple Blossoms
Ink: Melon Mambo, Old Olive
Paper: Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Acc.: Big Shot, Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Pearls

Got to run. It's been an exceptionally busy day and still have lots to do.

Thanks for stopping in. I hope you found some inspiration here.
