Another Square

Hello again.  Here's the other square in a square card that I did.

The layout is from the Less is More Challenge.  I like this better than the card I posted last, but I'm not sure this fits the challenge since there is supposed to be pure white space around the square.  In CAS cards, white space can be any color, it just needs to be free of image, layer or embellishment.  Since Chrissie's & Mandi's cards had white, white space, I wasn't sure if this was on the up and up.  Anyway, even if it doesn't fit this challenge, I love the hot colors!

These are the colors from this week's ColorQ challenge.  I usually don't get my card for this challenge posted in time, but I think I've made it this week.  Check out these fun colors.

I used the Emboss then Color technique.  I used the background stamp from the For All You Do set and stamped it in Whisper White, then heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder.  Then I took my SU Markers and colored the flowers and stems.  When doing this technique with white, you really need good light.  I felt like I was working blind!  Fortunately the ink wipes off the embossing.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  For All You Do
Ink:  Whisper White, SU Markers (Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede)
Paper:  Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Accessories:  White EP, Butterfly from Beautiful WIngs Embosslit

I'm going to see if I can squeeze a few minutes in to work on a couple of ideas that are bumping around in my brain.

Thanks so much for the visit and I really appreciate those comments.

Enjoy!

Raspberry Row

Last Friday, SCS honored k dunbrook as Queen for the Day.  Go on over and take a look at her amazing gallery.  Be prepared to be awed!  She's also the nicest lady with lovely comments and encouragement.  She definitely deserves to be queen, not for a day, but for at least a week.  (Since I didn't get my cards in yet, we really need to call it a week!)

Here's the first card I CASEd  from this card of Karen's.

This also fits for the Just Add Ink #61 challenge to just use stamps and cardstock.  No DSP, ribbon, buttons, die cuts, or punches.

Do you really think that's ribbon?  Nope!  It's a strip of Rich Razzleberry, stamped with the dots from the For All You Do set.  I hope heat embossing is allowed.  The white didn't show up as well as I'd hoped, so I embossed.

I inked the raspberries with the Melon Mambo marker then thumped with Rich Razzleberry and inked the stems with Pear Pizzazz.  The sentiment is from the retired Bird on a Branch set.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Clearly for You, For All You Do, Bird on a Branch
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, SU Markers (Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz)
Paper:  Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories:  SAMJ, White EP

Oops, I used a punch on the corners.  Oh well, I'm going to send it over and hope it's enjoyed anyway.  This was really a challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Enjoy!

Clearly a Challenge

Hello Creative People.  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I got to stamp with my friends in Roanoke Rapids and we had a really good time.

Today I have 2 posts, if my computer will cooperate!  First up is this....

The Just Add Ink #50 challenge was to use these colors...

Elegant Eggplant and Riding Hood Red?????

Then I wanted to do a card for the Clean & Simple Fall to Layout #122 challenge.  This is the layout they gave.

I flipped the layout because this card just needed to go vertical.  Two of the squares are stamped in So Saffron with the polka dot stamp from the For All You Do set and the other two with Pear Pizzazz and the floral stamp from Clearly for You.  The latter set is from the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  It has lots of really cute little stamps.

I inked 2 of the birds with my Elegant Eggplant marker and the branch with Early Espresso.  The stamp, also from the Clearly for You set, has 3 birds.  I want to use this for an anniversary card so I only inked 2 of the birds.  No threesome here!  After I stamped those little birds on a piece of scrap, I cut them out.  I must be crazy!  What some of us will do for these cards!

I inked the love from the love you stamp in the Short & Sweet set with the Elegant Eggplant marker and stamped it on the other polka dot square.

The heart, punched from a scrap of Riding Hood Red, completes the colors.

It wasn't the quickest or easiest card I ever did, but I'm satisfied with the results.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Clearly for You, For All You Do, Short & Sweet, Sanded Background
Ink:  Elegant Eggplant Markers, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz
Paper:  Pear Pizzazz, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red
Accessories:  Scallop Trim Border & Heart to Heart Punches

I'll go drop these off at the challenge sites and hopefully be back with another card.  I can't wait to show it to you.

Enjoy,
Bonnie

Valentine in Bermuda

I've made a lot of cards this week but somehow just don't seem to have enough time to both make and post. I've had lots of giggles and hugs from that adorable almost 2 yr. old and got to spend time with all of my daughters and some of Kelli's friends to boot. I've been reading a great book too. I'll share that with you when I finish it.

Here is another card for the CAS Valentine challenge. I've made Valentines in traditional colors too but thought I'd be daring and try something different. The Movers & Shapers die came out of the package and went to work for me. I love that you can cut a design out of the front of a card. A punch just won't quite work for that. The piece that is cut out is just a little bigger than the punch so you can use it as a mat for a punched piece. I'll show you that tomorrow. The actual punced piece is on the inside of the card popped up on dimensionals.

Card Recipe

Stamps: For All You Do, Short & Sweet, Vintage Labels (Sale-A-Bration)

Paper: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red

Ink: Basic Black

Acc: Big Shot, Movers & Shapers Die, Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Curly Label Punch, Word Window Punch
Heart to Heart Punch

By the way, the Vintage Labels set is clear mount. I didn't even have to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the border around the sentiment. On second look, maybe I should have. oops! Hope you like it anyway.

Blessings,

Bonnie
