Diamond Botanicals X Two

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I finally got to a NBUS stamp and die set from 2021.

Sadly, it's probably been retired in the meantime.

First up...

I stamped and heat embossed with white and watercolored with Arteza Twimarkers.

I cut the frame with the matching die and used one of the sentiments from the

set in the center.  For the dots, I added some color to a scrap of mixed media paper

and die cut with tiny circle punches.

And since I am way behind on making Christmas cards.....

I stamped this one with Memento Toffee Crunch and again colored with

the Twimarkers.  A Penny Black sentiment fit perfectly inside the frame

and the dots were cut from a scrap of red foil cardstock.

Loose Watercolor for CAS Mix Up

Happy New Year!

It's time for a new challenge at CAS Mix Up

My talented friend Jenny is hosting this month's watercolor challenge.

I used a NBUS background stamp inked with white and heat embossed on

mixed media paper.  When it had cooled, I used a large brush to add clean water

all over then dropped watercolor paint in pink, yellow and green.  Using a smaller 

brush, I dabbed more ink into and around the flowers.  If the color was darker than I wanted,

I dabbed with a paper towel.  If it was too light, I added more color.

This is such a relaxing technique to me.  I hope it's one you will enjoy too.

And since this is a background stamp, I got a second card from the piece.

Pawsome Birthday

Hi there.  I'm really glad you stopped by!

I had so much fun making this card!

I stamped and colored these sweet critters and cut them with 

the matching die from my NBUS stash.  Actually Darnell enabled me to

get this set after I saw this card!  Thanks, my friend.

I stamped, embossed and die cut the little banners and wrapped them

around a toothpick broken in half. Then I glued a micro bead to the point of

the toothpick for safety as well as a finishing touch.

The pooch is attached with a wobble so he is quite bouncy.  The birds have

dimensionals behind them.

I had some streamers in my stash that I cut out with my friend's die.

It was a good way to use snippets of colored foil.
