Fall Botanicals for CAS Mix Up

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Is it starting to look like Fall in your neck of the woods?
The leaves are just beginning to turn here.

I have some leaves from last Fall though.  Some are pressed and
one preserved with VersaMark and clear embossing powder.

We don't get the vibrant colors of the northern states.  We see more yellow, gold and rust
mixed with lots of burgundy.

I plucked some leaves from our maple tree and pressed some between two
pieces of heavy cardstock using my Big Shot.  The bottom leaf shows that well.

As I said before, I pressed the little leaf in VersaMark and then heat embossed with
clear embossing powder.

Challenges:
CAS Mix Up - Botanical Prints with stamping, die cutting and heat embossing
Cardz 4 Guys - Autumn Colors Birthday

Christmas Wreath for Inspired By

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This week's Inspired By Challenge has a twist.
Michele is hosting and she's challenged each of us to ask a friend to join us.
I invited my dear friend Loll (Stamping with Loll) to join the challenge with me.

Here's my card Inspired By the Christmas photo.  After all, Christmas is
not that far off!

Here's the inspiration photo.

I was inspired by the wreath, the colors, the metal and the gingham.  I even got in
some of the paneling.

I was inspired by those shiny apples in the other picture too and decided to use the other
half of my wreath for a Twofer.  It's not for Fall though.  I need to get my Christmas card
stash filled up like that bucket of apples!

Here's that inspiration photo.

The wreath die is from my overfull NBUS box.  I die cut it three times from
watercolor paper and used Zigs and water to color it up.

When it was all dry, I layered it up with some strategically placed drops of glue and
added it to an embossed background.

The jingle bell is part of the die and I used a snippet of foil cardstock to cut it
and the joy from.  The berries are from Nuvo Crystal drops.

I hope you'll head over to Loll's blog and see the fantastic card she did.
It was so much fun crafting together even with miles between us.
Maybe we should do that more often?

My friends at Inspired By and their friends have some lovely inspiration to share with you.
Do check them out.

And I see there's a new Christmas Challenge in town!
Congratulations, Darlene and Diane on another fabulous challenge!

Autumn Leaves Leftovers

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I had a class last week and this card was made from some leftovers of this card...

I had a piece of watercolor and the stencil from a piece that I had used
to test inking through a stencil made from a die cut for the inside.

I was able to die cut three of the small maple leaves from the watercolor
to pop over the stenciled ones.

Using Nature for CAS Mix Up

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm ready for Fall.  How about you?

I'm hosting at CAS Mix Up this month and I want us to use
things from nature on our cards. Go to your garden and pick leaves or flowers
and use them to make art.

I used Heather's gel print leaves technique with a maple leaf.

My mixed media are die cutting, dry embossing, heat embossing and
of course stamping.

I can't wait for you to see what our fabulous Design Team and Guest Designer, Izzy
have done. You'll get lots of inspiration there and more links to
techniques using botanical prints.

Hope to see you in the gallery at CAS Mix Up!

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Snippets (PB)
Ink:   Cajun Craze (SU)
Paper:   Neenah Solar White, Neenah 60 lb white, Brass Foil (SU)
Other:  Maple Leaf, Gel Plate, Liquitex Acrylic Paint (yellow, red), Frantage Chunky Gold EP (Stampendous), Grape Leaves Die (?), Stitched Square Die (SSS), Corner Rounder Punch, Subtle EF (SU)

Turning the Page October 2021

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Time to turn the page on our calendars to a new month.

I make calendars each year for my desk and my family.

I thought I'd set up a regular post on the last day of each month to share them.

I hope you enjoy my “Turning the Page” posts.

Here's our October page using Penny Black Singsong stamp.

By the way, the calendars are clipped together and can be displayed on an easel
or hung on a push pin or magnetic hook.  We all have a different way to display them.

If you would like a word document with the calendar, email me (bonklass(at)gmail(dot)com.
and I will be glad to send it to you so you can design your own.

If your email address is not in your profile, I have no way to send this to you.

Email link is in my profile on the sidebar.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!
