We're working with markers at CAS Mix Up this month.
I hadn't used them in quite a while.
And this didn't turn out anything like I intended!
I stamped and embossed on one side of a snippet of vellum,
turned it over and colored with Copics on the other side.
When I flipped it over to look at it, I saw dots!
Has this happened to you?
I don't know if it's the vellum or the Copics or the user!
It actually looked better on the side I colored on.
So I used that side!
I'd thought I might be able to stamp over it and emboss with white powder,
but it's reversed. So that didn't work.
After framing the image I adhered it to a piece of Fun Foam
to add dimension.
There's lots of gorgeous inspiration in the gallery over there
and we'd love to see what you do with your markers!
And since I used a snippet, I'm going to go visit
Pixie's Snippet Playground.
Looks like some hedgies have turned up to visit with Parsnip.

This is gorgeous - so rich and vibrant. Interesting about the dots, but I'm glad you could use the image anyway as it's so lovely. Love the framing and the sequins.

Not sure why you are unhappy because this is GORGEOUS! My experience with coloring on vellum has been disastrous! In fact I gave up. Your coloring on this is beautiful, Bonnie! You managed to shade it so beautifully. I found that copic dried too slowly for me. I didn't get dots but got a blotchy blend. Obviously I need lessons from you. This is just such a gorgeous image!

This looks brilliantly colored to me...and I've tried to color on vellum. Don't remember 'dots', but mine looks streaky...no matter how many layers I apply. This looks well done and I was tickled to read that you used the side you colored on! It's presented in such a classic mat and just lovely. Your copic coloring technique looks perfect to me! TFS
Well the back side sure looks beautiful Bonnie! I don't know anything about Copics, but I know with regular markers you color on the backside of vellum. Not sure why the dots though, weird. But you saved it well by using the backside as your frontside! No one would know if you had not told us. I thought you were doing "no line coloring". I love it and love the mat you put around it. I haven't coloured vellum much but I have not had that effect happen. Must admit though that I only use pastel colouring so maybe it doesn't happen or I just haven't noticed! Love the deep colours on your flower. Hugs Mrs A.
The frame sets off the beautiful flower perfectly! You make me want to get out my vellum!
Turning boo boo's and those "surprises" into saves is a true mark of creativity, as I like to say,and you sure are good at it. Beautiful stamp and rich colors.

I haven't had an issue coloring with Copics on vellum, but you certainly rectified it by using this side...it's perfect :)
Okay, now I want to go home and color on some vellum with copics. You've totally inspired me with this fabulous card.
Also, I have had the dots before. I blamed the vellum. It couldn't have been the copics because they didn't exist yet (or paper crafters hadn't discovered them yet).
