Gardenias with Love

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by.

There's still time to join in with Joanna's challenge at

I used a retired but beloved die from Memory Box to cut my stencil

Then I used small make up brushes to add Distress Ink through that stencil
adding highlights with watercolor pencils.

A stamped sentiment, a little dry embossed border and some splatters
finished the design.

The Design Team and our Guest Designer, Ina, have
some gorgeous inspiration for you.  I hope you'll check it out and
join us at CAS Mix Up.

Your roses are so lovely from your die cut stencil Bonnie, so softly colored with your brush and DI technique! The embossed border above them is so pretty along with the light splatter! xx

Such beautiful results Bonnie, this MB die lends itself so well to being made into a stencil and love the colours and added highlights with the watercolour pencils, and some pretty spattering, and a great sentiment, and the choice of background EF is perfect. x

Your roses are gorgeous. I love how the small make-up brushes enabled you to get into all those small areas. So pretty with all the white space ... those roses really pop! Love the special touches with the dry embossed scallop and dotty border. Looks amazing! xx

Oh my Bonnie, this card is so pretty! I am so loving that dry embossed border-adds such elegance. Your die stencil is beautiful too, love how you colored your flowers with such depth and the splatters add that bit extra touch. Hugs, Brenda

What a lovely card with beautifully stenciled gardenias, Bonnie! I love the wonderful design with the pretty dry embossing, and the shades of the flowers and leaves with your pencil highlights. The fine spatters are so perfectly done! My heart beats faster when I add spatters to a finished card. ;-)

Except for the spatters, this reminds me of a beautiful hand painted pillowcase, Bonnie. It's that wonderful embossing that did it. ;) Thanks for sharing your card with us at The Flower Challenge.

Beautiful. Looks like a real stencil rather than a die cut one. Love the watercolor pencil highlights and splatters.
