Floral Squares Slimline

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Or in my case, more than a day, LOL.

Have you been keeping up with the slimline card trend?

First I did an inky background using colorburst powders.
I used some plastic wrap on the wet inky background.  I guess
the ink wasn't wet enough to get much pattern from the plastic.

But it's bright and I liked the way the colors blended.

I cut a few of the Pinkfresh Floral Squares, cutting each twice.

I snipped the flowers out of one set and used the frame to offset with
the floral squares and added a bit of sponged color on each of the flowers.

I used the largest die to emboss a border along the edges.  The photo
doesn't show it well.  It matches the diagonal lines on the
colored panel.

The sentiment die was cut three times and stacked.

Challenges:
Pinkfresh Studio WCMD Challenge #6 - No Stamping with Anne
Pinkfresh Studio WCMD Challenge #5 - Slimline Cards with Lea

And another slimline card.  I used the larger die to emboss around the edge again
and this time dry embossed the smaller die cut.

I used Pinkfresh Studios Dainty Blossom dies and an embossing folder
to make this simple monochromatic card.  I added a thin strip of black
and a piece of twine where the embossing met and left a small space.

Challenges:
Pinkfresh Studio WCMD Challenge #1 - Diecutting with Hussena
Pinkfresh Studio WCMD Challenge #4 - Monochromatic with Jenny

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Love, love both cards! All colorful on the first and simple black and white on the second, but both totally fabulous. I did make a card on Saturday, but forgot all about World Card Making Day. Like you, I guess it's every day for me, ha!

Winnie and Walter used to do this for WCMD, and now that they’ve closed, I’m SO happy to see PF is doing the same. Hope I will have time to participate.
Your slimline cards are beautiful, Bonnie. The first one is bright and beautiful. Your second is classy and elegant.

WOW...these are both SO pretty Bonnie! I love the brightly colored background in your first card, and I can see a bit of the plastic wrap lines there! And I love what you did with the floral squares in doubling them up...AMAZING!! I'm loving your black & white card too, and again, LOVE the background! Was that a slimline embossing folder for the background, or did you just perfectly line up a regular size ef twice to get the slimline size?? Two lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)

And there you go again- coming up with some fabulous designs! What eye- appealing cards you have created! I too love the slim line cards and again I’ll save your notification to have a look at that company and what they offer. You have been doing some fabulous cards and these are no exception. I love the background of the first one and the wonderful, stark contrast of the second one. What a great use of those dies too.

Two very pretty slimline cards Bonnie, and love the bright and pretty Colorbust background on the first, and the die cut ofset squares each with a beautiful floral image inside with that soft watercolouring and the black sentiment really stands out. The die cut flowers on the second monochrome one look great with the dry embossed background and love the finishing touch of the twine with the strip across and sentiment...another wonderful design. x

LOVE your monochromatic slimline with the cool knitted background dry embossing. The black flowers, twine, and sentiment provide so much wonderful contrast with all the wonderful white space. xx

Both slimline cards are fabulous, Bonnie! The subtle plastic wrap crease marks add interest to the background, and the white floral square trio pops beautifully against the bright colors. Off-setting the frames is a creative idea!
The monochromatic card looks modern and stylish! Great job of the seamless dry embossing!

I don't know what a slimline card means, but I guess it's about its format and dimensions ... Your cards are beautiful. I especially like the second card with its high contrast and beautiful embossed background that adds so much softness.

Your color bursts made a beautiful background for the floral squares, Bonnie, and the little bit of shading on each flower added a wonderful touch. The black and white card is so dramatic and elegant.
