Tulips and More Tulips

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I love tulips and every Spring I have to get out at least one
of my tulip stamps.

This year it's the Technique Tuesday tulips.

In red and colored with Sharpies.

In yellow for my card class. Stamped and colored with Distress Markers.

and

I stamped then die cut the hemstitch frame and there was a little ink  on the
cutting pad from the previous cutting.  I ended up with a light impression  that just
didn't look right, especially beyond the border.  So I added some 2nd generation stamping
to make it look intentional and die cut again with the Elegant Rectangles die.

Then I added some texture to both the frame and the stamped image and didn't
like the texture on the tulips.  So I put the image on the outside of the embossing
folder and ran it through again and got most of the texture out.

I had to work for this one!

The red sharpie is so bold and colorful. I like the softness of the yellow too and a lot of work on the third card, but it is lovely too.

Beautiful cards Bonnie.
I love Technique Tuesday and used to get their stamps on a subscription - until I was charged double what the stamp and die cos me in import tax. I never understood why the tax here was calculated monthly and not at a flat rate. Frustrating and very annoying! x

Three really beautiful and elegant tulip cards Bonnie and love the wonderful bright red ones with a pretty frame and embossed background, then the next two in that super yellow with that fantastic ornate hemstitch design on the mat, and the last using the same frame as the first and it looks great although it sounds as though it went through a few changes but you finished up with a brilliant card. x

You've tip-toed into my Monday morning so beautifully, Bonnie! Love tulips in any, and every color! These are gorgeous!
This last one with the 'unwanted' texture looks like it might have been stamped on canvas - fabulous!

Wow, gorgeous tulips, and I can't believe you colored the red ones with Sharpies! The yellow are so soft and pretty. The last card with the second generation stamping almost looks like print making. All are breathtaking, Bonnie!

WOW Bonnie! These are incredible. Your red one is superb! I've never seen anyone color that well with sharpies but you achieved such a brilliant, rich red! Love the yellow ones too as well as your wonderful layouts!

Three beauties, Bonnie! They're all wonderful, and beautifully colored. As for flattening out your embossing? Look at you all inventive and everything :o)

Love them all, Bonnie (and I love tulips too - I always treat myself to a few bouquets of them every spring). I think my favourite is the second one - the hemstitch border with the yellow panel showing through is so perfect for framing them. But I also love the second generation stamping on the third one - creates such a great subtle background.

Before I could go and comment on these beautiful Tulips, you went and posted two more cards. As much as I love the red with the basket weave background, you just cannot beat the yellow card! Beautifully designed, simple and well colored -- I like the fact that the sentiment is there buy your eye is drawn to the tulips.
