Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
Recently I was the lucky winner of this gorgeous poinsettia die.
Thank you Michele.
So I was thinking poinsettia colors when our Zoom group was trying a
This technique is messy fun!
I filled a baby wipe container about 3/4 full of water, dropped in a
few drops of alcohol ink and dipped a piece of cardstock into it.
The red ink kind of clotted up and left behind some interesting splotches.
- I found that some inks seemed to blend better than others.
- Disposable gloves are a must.
- Spreading a vinyl tablecloth on the counter was a good idea for catching spills and drying all those dipped pieces.
I went kind of crazy and probably will never use all those backgrounds!
This one found a good home though.

I have never tried float AI's on water to transfer the colour but now I have seen your results I will definitely be having a go as the poinsettia is gorgeous Bonnie, and the gold die cut sentiment and embossed script in the background finish it beautifully. x
Bonnie, that die set has found the perfect home! I'm loving your beautiful pink Poinsettia made with your fun AI technique - not quite sure I'm up for the mess but can't wait to see the other cards you make using those panels!

That sounds like a technique I have to try when I get home. I love the way the floating ink gave a range of colors to your poinsettia, Bonnie, even the bright red section. I can't wait to see what other panels you created.
Your poinsettia is just beautiful, Bonnie! Thanks for introducing us to another wonderful technique! Alcohol ink is so fun to play with. And I know you will use those backgrounds so creatively.
What a fun technique and such great results for your beautiful Poinsettia!! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
The floating AI look beautiful on the poinsettia. It made an interesting color design. I can't wait to see how your other backgrounds came out.
Beautifully done Bonnie. Those extra backgrounds always can be put to use for die cutting.
Hi Bonnie,
Happy Rudolf Days.
Not heard of that technique beafore but the effects turn out fabulously.
Love that gorgeous poinsttia made with the technique you described and the gold peace finishe it all off perfectly too.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. DT
Alcohol inks always create such amazing images. I know it's Armageddon at home, but sometimes all this mess is worth the final results. You made such a great use of stained cardboard to cut out the petals of your poinsettias. This flower is really beautiful on an embossed background.

Oh my word!!!! This is absolutely gorgeous and looks quite different from what you usually do. Love it Bonnie - really love it!!!!

Beautiful use of that piece from our Zoom group! I love all the splotchy colours you got in the poinsettia pieces. It looks great on the simple embossed script background.
Wow another fun technique to try. Your poinsettia is beautiful and so is your card. Congrats on your win. I look forward to seeing more of your backgrounds with this technique.
I think your new dies have found the perfect home! Love what you've done with them. I don't think I could handle the mess of the process, but high fives girl!
What wonderful, random patterns on the card Bonnie, and it makes for a great focal point used on the poinsettia. A beautiful card
Stay safe

What an artsy and beautiful poinsettia and the most unique and fabulous card Bonnie x. Thank you for the link to the fun technique, which of course, I have just got to try! x.
I didn't know you could do alcohol inks in water like that! Great video to watch and as soon as I can get to my inks, I will have to try this. Did you use water color paper Bonnie??? Your print came out gorgeous and makes a stunning poinsettia! The variegated colors are so pretty. Love this card, so clean, so simple, so beautiful! Hugs, Brenda
Love the "splotches", they add so much eye candy to the already pretty poinsettia! Variations in colors are why the trendy colors of poinsettias tend to be my fave, though I admit I have two deep red poinsettias sitting on my mantle right now
Congratulations on your win, Bon! It certainly found its way to the perfect home because you made it come alive with your gorgeous design! Love the subtle texture of the background and the bold shiny gold sediment to enhance the stunning poinsettia! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Dolly
Congrats on winning that beautiful die. I have never tried that technique, might be a bit messy for me, but if the results are this good I might have to give it a go xx
It seems to be very amazing and funny technique, Bonnie. Regarding to the petals of the poinsettia it makes a wonderful effect. Another technique to try out. :-) Your card is beautiful.

What an incredible effect and really eyecatching on that beautiful poinsettia! Vicky x
Sounds like you had so much fun with floating AI technique, Bonnie! Your pink poinsettia is absolutely gorgeous! Love the AI visual texture of the petals/leaves, and how you arranged them! The script embossing in the background is subtle but adds so much interest to the card without distracting from the flower. Thanks so much for sharing the tips!

A lovely card Bonnie, cool technique with the AIs and a fabulous way to use them for the pretty die cut poinsettia, ... must try this, hugs Robyn
Oh wow, I love this card. Gorgeous poinsettia, I love the paper/colours. Thank you for joining us at ABC Christmas Challenge. xx Wilma
What a pretty poinsettia. The texture you got is interesting for sure and so cool! .Sounds like another great AI technique to try. 😉
This is so pretty, Bonnie! It makes me wish I had more than 3 colors of alcohol inks. Congratulations on your win!
Beautiful card!
