Leaves

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Our craft group used stencils this month.

We stenciled on black cardstock with white pigment ink.

After drying the ink, we daubed some colored pigment ink over the white ink.

I went over the leaves randomly with my embossing marker and added some gold
embossing.  The die cut leaf was in the envelope with the die.  I really don't remember
how I did that, but it went well with the background.

Since there was still time to play, I used the leaf stencil that I'd taken.

I was having trouble getting good coverage with the white ink and since I was using
my leaves stencil, the next day I stenciled again and got better coverage.

It seems I have gold embossing on the brain, because I decided to emboss these leaves
while the ink was still mostly wet.

I die cut leaves with a matching die using some cardstock I'd sponged earlier and
added some splatters with gold re-inker.

Working with white pigment ink is really difficult - ask me how I know... two fabulous cards using black paper for a little drama! You always seem to have just the right goodies in your envelopes, my friend!
I had a few leaves of my own out yesterday!

I love the gold on black, Bonnie. I can see using Perfect Pearls with this technique too. I'll have to give it a try when I get back to my regular stash. I don't know why I didn't bring any leaves with me since this is the usual time for leaf challenges.

This is such a strong look using the black card Bonnie and I love the more random look on the first with that pretty added leaf which looks as though some bits of embossing powder have been added whilst it was set, and finished with a lovely die cut sentiment. The second looks great too with the gold stencilled leafy branch, and the added inked one goes brilliantly over the top, with the 'celebrate' which finishes it perfectly. x

Absolutely gorgeous cards Bonnie!

My heart aches for the people in Western North Carolina. I have spent most of my life living in Asheville and Brevard. I used to work in Biltmore Village. The little town of Chimney Rock has been decimated. I have been unable to talk with close friends that live there. It seems like I should say more about your beautiful cards but I cannot get the devastation in Western North Carolina out of my mind.
