Navy and Lime for Color Hues

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's time for a new challenge at Color Hues and Stef has chosen
Navy & Lime Green for our colors.

Doesn't it look like this jay is up to mischief?
He reminds me of the blue jays that used to dive bomb our cat when she
laid under the tree they were nesting in.  She totally ignored them until they went away.
I don't think she ever bothered the birdie babies, if there were any.

I am really enjoying this stamp and thought it would make a good card for
my brother-in-law.  He'll be 88 this year.

Esther is our Guest Designer for this challenge and I can't wait for you to see what
she has come up with and the rest of this fabulous team too. I know you'll be inspired to
use these colors and join us.  This challenge is open until January 29th at 9:00 AM.

Hope to see you at Color Hues with your navy and lime green creations.

I love your card with that pretty Blue Jay setting on the pine branch. He does look like he is up to some mischief, wonder what it is. :) The embossed background is lovely also.

Beautiful job coloring that jay, Bonnie. I love the way you added soft color to the background too.

He sure is a beauty, Bonnie! [but they are a very bossy, bully of a bird, aren't they?] Such a smart choice for this fun color combo - and very beautifully water colored, too!

I believe I do see a smirk on his adorable little face but we'll let him get away with it, he's just too handsome! Great use of the colors, great card, Bonnie

A perfect masculine card, Bonnie! He does look quite mischievous. The ones in our yard seem to bully the other birds sometimes. I love that textured background and beautiful watercoloring!

Love this cheeky Jay. Beautiful coloring and these can be some mean birds! We have them around here (cardinals can be mean too!) Today is the first day I've been able to comment and get it published (tried at Loll's blog) so I thought I'd try again here. Love this beautiful card. Hugs & Prayers MH

He is indeed a beautiful jay, Bonnie, and up to mischief, no doubt! I miss the jays I used to have in my yard in Oregon but we have Magpies here in Idaho and they are equally as clever, noisy and bullies, as Michele said. Great card design and wonderful way to use these colors. I'm sure you're BIL will appreciate this lovely card!

What a perfect subject for our navy and lime challenge! It tells me that once I get through my NBUS box, a beautiful bird stamp would be a good purchase. I'm always looking for stamps that work well for guys, and this is a winner. Your card design is wonderful--look the navy and white panels on the top and bottom!

Love that bird image! Perfect for Christmas or for winter birthdays. You've coloured it beautifully and it looks great on the navy card base.

We both managed to hit on the same layout but the end results are so different! Love your textured navy and your watercoloured panel looks fab too, think that birdie is eyeing up something tasty just of to the side. :)

I love the Blue Jay and the pine branches and pine cones are perfect for a winter birthday and the panel stands out brilliantly against the dark blue embossing behind it, and I'm sure your BIL will be really pleased to receive this beautiful card Bonnie. x

You used these colors beautifully, Bonnie! I'm loving the Jay. Ours are the Stellar's Jays. I put a few handfuls of peanuts out for them in the backyard feeder each day and Sophie waits for them to show up. They wait for me, she waits for them. She can be as mischievous as them! Your beautiful coloring brings this guy to life on his pine branch, and the layout and navy blue background is striking!

Sigh, If only I could watercolor like this. You do this so well, Bonnie and capture his colors brilliantly!
