Generation Stamping with Group of Seven Cardmakers

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This month, the Group of Seven is stretching the inking with generation stamping
(sometimes called second generation stamping, repetitive stamping or stamping off).

It's such an easy technique to get depth in a design.  Once I got started, I
kept on going.  I apologize for the long post.

This is actually the second card I did.  I stamped the leaves on mixed media paper
so I could use my waterbrush to get a watercolored look.  I inked the leaves and
stamped three more times without reinking, then smoothed the color with water.
For the "background" leaves, I was careful to keep cleaning my brush to
keep them lighter.

This was my first attempt with this stamp.  I had the brilliant idea to add splatters.
It didn't look good with the daisy so I set it aside.  After a day or so, it looked
better but still not good with the daisy.   This butterfly that was in the UFO butterfly
box worked much better.

This card was done with a two part stamp (leaves and bloom).  Again I
stamped multiple times without reinking.  I have the die for these little
flowers but I thought the freesia die cut looked better.  The little ones got
lost with all the flowers in the background.

Last is my least favorite but I decided to share it anyway.

Do go over to the Group of Seven blog and see what my creative friends have
done with this technique.  There are links to videos showing this technique and
Loll has added some good instructions.

They are all beautiful and great second generation stamping. The butterfly was a good choice on the second card but my favorite is that lovely 3rd card. Love the flower and the colors. Have a great weekend my friend.

No apologies needed, Bonnie - you could have kept these beauties coming! I was in love with your very first card - but they are all really wonderful!
You do have a way with all the generations of stamping, my friend!

All are beautiful so happy to see so many examples of it! My favourite is the first one. I love the way you used your waterbrush to get the watercoloured look. And I'm very partial to daisies!

I love the effects you can get with that technique. All your cards are great, but I have to say that your least favourite is my most favourite! xx

This was one of the first techniques I learned ...way back in 2000 or so! Thought it look SO artistic and it is so easy! I still use it with flowers on envelopes... Great cards and glad to see the technique revived! Think it was Stamp In the Hand (SITH) that originated it...but could be wrong!

Four brilliant cards Bonnie, and I love the look of the generation stamping of the leaves on the first two cards with that lovely daisy and ladybird, and the second with a beautiful butterfly. The third looks great with more pretty flowers and the leaves and flowers with multiple stampings make a wonderful background to the pretty orange flower, The last is totally different with the terrific curvy white hole patterned top layer with the lovely wildflower silhouette flowers and leaves weaving their way across the card. x
