Poinsettias

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I am woefully behind on making Christmas cards!

For those of you who think it's too early to think about Christmas cards, I feel
like the first half of this year has flown by and that only leaves a moment before
I need to get those cards in the mail!  So here's some for the stash.

First up was done using Michele's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I used Distress re-inkers (listed below) to get a rich color and actually went over
the petals with some Real Red re-inker.

No stem for this poinsettia, but it represented with the thin gold strip that
separates the two background panels.

This actually was the last card I did.  Before that I'd done another using last
week's sketch.  I was too slow to be able to add it to the gallery.
A week goes by way too quickly!

So here are two more....

This is a great sketch and one I'll use again and again.

The poinsettias were cut from watercolor paper and smooshed into spritzed distress in
on my palette, then shaped and put together with a drop of glue in the center
of the flower.

The embossing is the same for all three.

This one used the same colors but more water.

I'll take this pink poinsettia to the Peace on Earth Challenge.

Hello, and happy Monday, Bonnie! You have started my day on a very happy note! I love Poinsettias and this one is the perfect size for our Sketch - love the duo embossing on your panel and glittery goodness of Peace. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches... you are really embracing them beautifully, Bonnie! [now I better get off my butt and get busy on my Christmas cards, too!]

Three lovely poinsettia cards to add to your stash, Bonnie. The different saturation of ink gives each card its own unique feel. I'm behind too so I watercolored 2 poinsettia and 2 holly panels over the weekend. Don't know yet how I'm going to finish them off.

That rich red on the white background is absolutely gorgeous! What better message than PEACE. You are absolutely right - the first part of the year has flown by. I feel like I am doing good just to get my birthday cards made. It always brings me pleasure to see your cards Bonnie. So many ideas. I particularly like the embossed background on the second and third cards.
It's kind of hard to think about Christmas when it feel like an oven outside!!!

What a trio of loveliness Bonnie!! I love Poinsettia's too and all three are beautiful! I love how you used Michele's sketch in the 1st one (I love the glittery peace sentiment!) and the week before for the sketch with your other 2 cards! I've been making Christmas cards this past week too as the panic is starting in on not having enough by December...been too lazy the past 6 months! Hugs. :0)
