Hello Friend

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I have a stack of Betterpress designs waiting to be colored.  It seems like there's
always something else that needs to be done and coloring gets put aside.

With a color choice of peach and green, I had to push life out of the way and
get my brush wet!

It was so much fun coloring this with Arteza Twi-markers.

After coloring the image, I usually  do a wash with blue re-inker.  Since Color Hues
wants us to use just the two colors and any neutrals the blue was out.

The drop of Brushed Corduroy Distress re-inker in my dish came in handy.  I added a drop
of water to that and using the wet on wet technique, I dropped a bit around the bouquet.

I'd seen that stenciling was a part of a couple of challenges and thought a little random
stenciling with what was left of Brushed Corduroy in a thumb dauber would add some to
the design without making it too busy.

I'm happy with it and I hope you like it too.

Challenges:
Color Hues #84 - Peace and Green
Stencil Fun Challenge - Use a stencil optional theme Spring Flowers
Tic Tac Toe #244 - Middle Row (Spring Colors, Free, Stencil)

Flutter into Spring

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I was able to get two for one with this pressing of Spellbinders'
Flutter Into Spring.

When I pressed it I placed the sentiment in what turned out to be an awkward place.

I went ahead and colored the images using my Arteza Twi-markers.  I was so pleased with
the way these markers worked on the Betterpress paper.

I die cut the panel bypassing the hummingbird and sentiment.

The dots are Nuvo Crystal drops and the design is placed on an embossed background.

Since the hummingbird was all colored, he needed to be put on a card too.

After I carefully fussy cut him, I remembered that there is a die for the
hummingbird included in this set.

I knew that Can You Handle the Pressure was looking for birds so I looked in my
box of embossed backgrounds and found this weathered embossing that was a
perfect size.  And when looking for something to mat the design on, I found
a piece all embossed in the drawer.  (I have these things stashed everywhere!)

The flowers were die cut from Hotpress paper and I found that the Arteza
markers didn't blend as well on this paper.  The flowers were really bright.
So I watered down a bit of Gesso and painted it over the flowers.

Spring Flowers

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Spring has definitely arrived here.  Every day there is more green in the trees
and more yellow pollen on everything else!

This card was made from a design for this year's calendar.  You may remember it from
last month's Turning the Page.

I die cut it with a scallop and used a piece of patterned paper to peek out from  behind.

I thought that little ladybug would be eye catching.

The splatters are stamped.

Butterfly Garden

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I had so much fun coloring this card!

A sweet friend sent me some pressings from her Betterpress collection and I have been
squeezing in a few minutes every day to color.  This time I colored with Zigs.
I hadn't used them for a long time.

The color really soaks into this paper which is a good thing for rich color,
not so good for lighter colors.  So I swiped some on my palette and picked up
the color with my waterbrush for the lighter shades.

I wondered if my mini slimline dies would fit in the sentiment space and was
happy to see that this one fit well.

I've had this sentiment for many years and rarely find an opportunity to use it.

It was so much fun that I colored another Betterpress image also shared from another friend.
Crafting Friends are the BEST!

This time I colored with Distress re-inkers, markers and inkpads smooshed on a palette.

I'm joining in with Darnell's I.D.E.A.S. - First Monday (Ink-Color Mediums), where she has
challenged herself.  It's a good way to get inspired!  I used Zigs and Distress inks.
