It's time for a new challenge at CAS Mix Up.
(I didn't realize until just now that the vellum is kind of rippled. It wasn't intentional)
The very talented Mac is our host this month and this is what she chose.
There are definitions of ombre on the challenge site as well as links to video tutorials.
I did this background with a baby wipe. I saw Jennifer McGuire do this and
wanted to try it while we were all hot on using baby wipes.
I folded a baby wipe several times until it was a good size to fit around the edge of
an acrylic block and attached it with a rubber band. I added a few drops of
three different colors of Distress re-inkers and swiped it on a piece of cardstock.
With this piece I got fancy and swiped it in different directions.
I stamped with a small set of Lavinia stamps that I got while in Vancouver.
For a little added interest, I dry embossed a couple corners of the design piece.
So my mixed media are Ombre, Baby Wipe, Stamping, Dry Embossing,
Vellum and Heat Embossing.
I hope you'll be inspired by our talented Design team and our
fabulous Guest Designer, Bobby, and join us at CAS Mix Up.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Beautiful Ombre background technique, Bonnie. I am wanting to try this technique soon too:-) TFS and always inspiring me my friend. Hugs...
Such a beautiful mixed media card Bonnie. The technique looks fabulous and those stamps are so striking x. Love the addition of the dry embossing too x. Amazing card and I love it x.
Your gradient is just gorgeous! Love the embossed corner design as well as the use of vellum for your sentiment. Thank you for decribing your process too.
Beautiful card. I love your ombre baby wipe background, it is so pretty. The stamped image and embossed corners look great on it. TFS
Love the ombré gradation on pinks, but I especially adore the pop of dry embossing in the corner which defintely caught my eye. The black Lavinia stamp is gorgeous and the trio just brings it all together, along with the black matting and sentiment vellum strip. Truly gorgeous! xx
LOVE your swiped background Bonnie. The shades of pink are so pretty. And those Lavinia stamps are awesome! Great ombre card, my friend! xx
What a pretty pink ombre background you made using baby wipes. I love the way you used black here and there and the dry embossing you added to the corners. It adds so much interest in a subtle way. You're always good at adding dry embossing effectively to the background.
Hideko xx
Beautiful ombre effects with all those lovely shades of pink, Bonnie! I love that you chose black for your Lavinia stamps, too...the contrast is perfect! Thanks for inspiring me to play along :)
That’s a lovely effect with both the baby wipes and the dry embossing. Hugs Mrs A.
À beautiful càrd. Love the embossed corner and vellum

Love this look--the stamp is striking against the ombre background. I am amazed at how many ways to use baby wipes to create interesting and fairly easy backgrounds!
I love the shades of pink you have used here Bonnie and the Lavinia Starburst looks so pretty over the top and such pretty added dry embossing too. A fantastic ombre effect. Sorry I have missed so many of your gorgeous creations, and I have been looking back and will be commenting on a few more. This last month I have been extra busy and was not able to keep up with commenting. x
This is beautiful Bonnie!! I love the ombre look using the baby wipe and your silhouetted image is so pretty too! And the touch of embossing in the corners is such a great addition also. Lovely, lovely card my friend! :0)
Look at you really mixing it up, Bonnie. The baby wipe background is terrific and the embossed corner unexpected. The thistle (I guess they are) silhouettes look wonderful with all that bright pink behind them.
Another gorgeous beauty! Love the background on this one. Stunning.
Lynn
Beautiful ombré swiping, Bonnie. The black stamping pops wonderfully against it. Great idea to stamp the sentiment on vellum as not to cover up all that goodness. xx
love this...will need to try this technique as I hadn't seen Jennifer doing it yet.
I also love the interest embossing the corners has given your beautiful card....I just got those stamps too!! another great card mf.
x Karen
Bonnie all I can say is I simply love this card...your ombre, pretty colours showing off those Starburst silhouettes, the embossed corner and the vellum sentiment...just gorgeous, Robyn
Beautiful card Bonnie and I love your pink ombre! I saw Jennifer McGuire to that too, but have not tried it as I don't have reinkers. It came out great on your card! I also love the stamps you used and the dry embossing, gives so much texture with all the mix media you used. Hugs, Brenda
I love the soft look and the diagonal brushstrokes. Baby wipes have made a comeback in my house after a long hiatus! So many new things to try with them and this is gorgeous. I've just discovered Lavinia stamps and love them.
Awesome design Bonnie, love the swiped background and the wonderful images you used.
So pretty Bonnie with your lovely ombre panel streaked on an angle - love your silhouette stampings and pretty vellum panel!
Your ombre technique is perfect, Bonnie. I love the colors you used. they are so delicate and feminine. Flowers from Lavinia look great.
Hugs,
