Embossed Vellum for CAS Mix Up

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by.

It's time for a new CAS Mix Up!
We've combined the CAS Mix Up, CAS Watercolour, and CAS Stencil
into one challenge.  We'll be alternating between the three.

This month is Mixed Media.

The very creative Susan is hosting this month and she chose...

She has included some instructional videos at the challenge site.
This technique is one I've wanted to do for a long time!

I stamped and heat embossed these little flowers on some vellum and
used a stylus to press in the petals from the backside.  Not only does it
add extra texture, but it turns the vellum white where you press.
My flowers are pretty small and it's hard to see the white, but
check in at the challenge site and see some great examples from our talented
Design Team and Guest Designer Bonnie (Paper Crafter at Large).

My mixed media are Embossed Vellum, Stamping, Heat Embossing and Embossing with a Die

I stamped twice so I have another card to share.
This time I added watercolor on the back of the flowers.

Hope to see your embossed vellum card at

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Two beautiful card dear friend. This stamp is perfect for this challenge and with the coloured card stock behind, they really pop. The watercolour accent on the second really makes an emphasis. Great job! xx

Wow - your embossing on vellum looks like lace flowers to me Bonnie - especially on the first card - love the softness with the vellum over the colored panel - a lovely technique this month for Mixed Media! xx

I'm loving the sweet little embossed vellum flowers Bonnie and both the whitened and the coloured looks are great, and the two different background colours with the embossed die technique as a frame, and the beautiful PB die cute frame around the other both look amazing. Gorgeous cards! x

Both cards are adorable Bonnie! I LOVE you sweet little flowers. They look adorable with the stylus work on the coral card and oh-so pretty with watercolouring on your coloured vellum. xx

You have done both creations proud. The white embossing on the first one really does show and provided the needed relief. I love color and your second one is lovely but the first one stole my heart. Maybe it was the sweet bow?

Both heat, and dry embossing vellum have been a struggle for me, Bonnie... so many times I end up warping/tearing it - which breaks my heart because it is my favorite paper!
I love the colors you've brought to your beautiful cards - they sing Summertime with Poppies, and Lilacs!

GORGEOUS cards, if I hadn't read your description I would have thought you had cut lace flowers to add to your card, they are an amazing effect. Love them. Gorgeous designs too.
Take care

Your little flowers are so cute, Bonnie! They look like they've been stitched or embroidered onto your cards. I love them both ways!

These are so pretty. I don’t think I have done dry embossing with a stylus, but it looks so cool. I like how you watercoloured on the back on the second card.

Like all the other crafters who commented, I think your two cards are beautiful and creative. I especially love the colors of the paper behind the flowers.

Both cards are phenomenal, Bonnie. The orange makes the white flowers pop and adding color to the others bring them out on the light purple.

Beautiful! These are TINY flowers to be fiddling with but you've made them even prettier

Two beautiful cards. Love the embossed flowers on the vellum. They look great just embossed or colored. I like the way you went over them with the stylus and layed them over the orange. They are framed beautifully on both cards. TFS

These are so pretty. I love the little embossed flowers and the way you framed them both. I have a stylus somewhere and the last time I used it was with a light box. I'll go look.

Both cards are so pretty, Bonnie! You did a fantastic job of pressing the tiny petals one by one with your stylus! I love the color of the cardstock showing through the vellum piece.
Watercoloring the darker purple is a wonderful touch too.
